Dear Parents of 3K, We have been studying about our country Canada, looking at the different provinces/territories, its capital cities and large bodies of water that surround the country. To prepare for the test, students have made flash cards, completed a map assignment, and playing interactive games to quiz each other on their knowledge. The test will be on Tuesday, October 28th. The test on the “Map of Canada” will consist of the following: Part A) Labeling Provinces/Territories On a blank map, numbers 1-13 will be written on the provinces/territories in random order. Students will be given a word bank of the provinces/territories for correct spelling. There will be a response sheet where students write the appropriate names corresponding to the map. It will look similar to this: Provinces/Territories British Columbia Alberta Saskatchewan 1. 2. 3. *numbers on map written in random order* Part B) Matching: Province/Territory to its Capital Cities Students will be asked to match the appropriate capital cities with its province/territory This website may be helpful in studying for the quiz! http://www.sheppardsoftware.com I will give students a blank map this week for them to practice at home.
