Overview
Skyways Aviation Training Institute is fully registered by Ministry of Higher Education Science and
Technology as a tertiary training institute offering professional training from certificates diplomas and
advanced /Higher Diploma. The main aim was produce young professional in Aviation, Travel and
Tourism Sectors with the necessary skills and knowledge necessary for excellent performance in the
Global job market. The institute therefore toils to ensure that it release only the best into the market,
professional that are all –round, focused, dedicated to succeed both in their personal lives as well as
their career fields.
With tourism being the major income earner for the country and the entire world, Skyways Aviation
Training Centre offers a several courses in the relevant fields such as:-;

Diploma Flight Dispatch operations
These courses form the back bone of the institute. To date, over 2500 graduates from this areas have
secured employment in the major travel and tourism firms, agencies and airlines within and outside the
country. With time, due the demand required in business management skills, the Business department
was introduced. The Business Department trains individuals to attain the finer skills and modern
practices essential for any business to achieve its goal and objectives. Some of the key courses in this
department are: Business management and administration
 Public relations and Customer care
 Human resource management
 Sales and marketing
Also of important is Entrepreneurship Management course that is offered free and compulsory to all our
students. This course meant to equip them with skills on how they can start, run and manage their own
business. This is in line with the college mission to produce not only employees but also employers. With
time other courses such as Hotel and Hospitality Management, Accounting, Mass Communication and
Journalism, Information Technology and Foreign Languages were introduced. In fact, students can take
up to two foreign languages free of charge and get to learn computer packages. These are essential in
the communication world. All this certificate, diploma and advanced diploma are examined by
internationally recognized examining bodies such as:-

3. The Institute of Commercial Management-ICM
4. Kenya National Examination Council-KNEC

This ensures that our students are able to get international standards in training thus enabling them to
complete and work anywhere in the world. The institute also liaises with other stakeholders in various
fields relevant to our courses to offer field educational trips and attachments for our students. This
enables to acquaint themselves with the practical aspects of the job industry, hence our vision; to satisfy
market demands of effective and skilled personnel for quality services.
STAFF
The institute is managed by the Board of directors headed by the Director of studies. The day to day
activities are overseen by principal assisted by the administrator and a competent team of qualified and
experience lecturers. The institute currently has a total population of nine full time lecturers and 4 part
time lecturers who handle the academic matters and three administrative fulltime staff members. Our
staff members are the strength of our success and therefore we strive to recruit and retain the best to
ensure that our students are comfortable both in and outside classes.
STUDENTS
Our student’s body comprises of all ages of both local and international students who are thirsty for
knowledge. Our enrollment cuts across all tribes and regions in Kenya as well as forms other east African
countries. We respect all cultures and religions therefore making skyways Aviation training Institute a
comfortable learning institution for all.
Our learning is students centered where the focus is on the students. We emphasize on identification of
Skills and talents in our students and help them how them how explore the potential already within. All
our learning sessions are practical based during and after sessions. We arrange for industrial attachment
from major Companies such as Tour Companies, airlines, Travel agencies, Media House Hotels and
Lodges. This is made to equip ours students with practical knowledge to compliment the rhetorical
knowledge attained in class. Other activities include sports and academic trips to enhance learning.
Our sponsorship program makes it possible for those students who were not very sure of getting Tertiary
college education to realize the goals and objectives. We partner with other organizations such as
churches; Non Governmental organizations to make this program, infact majority of our students are on
a sponsorship program successful. Students I need of sponsorship are advised to make formal application
to the Director of Studies.

Submit the original deposit slip to our office for official receipt to be issued.
3. Accommodation: - Hostel accommodation is available at an extra cost of kshs. 6000.00, 6500.00,
7000.00 per month depending on the number sharing .Registration fee for the hostel is kshs 1500.00
paid at the hostel.
4. Insurance: students are required to purchase individual insurance policy against accidents for personal
cover during the learning duration.
