Baptized Christians of all ages and denominations are invited to the
Lord’s Table. Kneel or stand at the rail, receiving the bread in the palm
of your hand. If you wish to receive the wine you may drink from the cup
or touch the bread lightly to the wine, if you do not wish to receive the
wine, cross your arms at your chest and bow your head after receiving the
bread.
Those who have not been baptized are invited to cross your arms
at your chest as a sign to the priest to give you a blessing. Those who
wish to avail themselves of our Prayer and Healing Ministry may proceed to
the side Altar on the north side of the church.
SCRIPTURE READINGS
FOR THE
ACTS 1:15-17, 21-26
In those days Peter stood up among
the believers (together the crowd
numbered about one hundred twenty
persons) and said, "Friends, the
scripture had to be fulfilled,
which the Holy Spirit through David
foretold
concerning
Judas,
who
became a guide for those who
arrested
Jesus-for
he
was
numbered among us and was allotted
his share in this ministry. So one
of the men who have accompanied us
during all the time that the Lord
Jesus went in and out among us,
beginning from the baptism of John
until the day when he was taken up
from us-- one of these must become
a
witness
with
us
to
his
resurrection." So they proposed
two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who
was also known as Justus, and
Matthias. Then they prayed and
said, "Lord, you know everyone's
heart. Show us which one of these
two you have chosen to take the
place
in
this
ministry

apostleship from which Judas turned
aside to go to his own place." And
they cast lots for them, and the
lot fell on Matthias; and he was
added to the eleven apostles.

REFRAIN
Hal H. Hopson
© 1988 Hope Publishing Company
1 Happy are they who have not walked
in the counsel of the wicked,
*
nor lingered in the way of
sinners,
nor sat in the seats of the
scornful!
2 Their delight is in the law of the
LORD, *
and they meditate on his law day
and night. Refrain
3 They are like trees planted by
streams of water,
bearing fruit in due season, with
leaves that do not wither;*
everything they do shall prosper.
4 It is not so with the wicked; *
they are like chaff which the
wind blows away. Refrain
5 Therefore the wicked shall not
stand upright when judgment
comes, *
nor the sinner in the council of
the righteous.
6 For the LORD knows the way of the
righteous, *
but the way of the wicked is
doomed. Refrain
1 JOHN 5:9-13
If we receive human testimony, the
testimony of God is greater; for
this is the testimony of God that
he has testified to his Son. Those
who believe in the Son of God have
the testimony in their hearts.
Those who do not believe in God
have made him a liar by not
believing in the testimony that God
has given concerning his Son. And
this is the testimony: God gave us
eternal life, and this life is in
his Son. Whoever has the Son has
life; whoever does not have the Son
of God does not have life. I write
these things to you who believe in
the name of the Son of God, so that
you may know that you have eternal
life.
JOHN 17:6-19
Looking up to heaven, Jesus prayed,
"I have made your name known to
those whom you gave me from the
world. They were yours, and you gave
them to me, and they have kept your
word. Now they know that everything
you have given me is from you; for
the words that you gave to me I have
given to them, and they have
received them and know in truth that
I came from you; and they have
believed that you sent me. I am
asking on their behalf; I am not
asking on behalf of the world, but
on behalf of those whom you gave me,
because they are yours. All mine are
yours, and yours are mine; and I
have been glorified in them. And now
I am no longer in the world, but
they are in the world, and I am
coming to you. Holy Father, protect
them in your name that you have
given me, so that they may be one,
as we are one. While I was with
them, I protected them in your name
that you have given me. I guarded
them, and not one of them was lost
except the one destined to be lost,
so that the scripture might be
fulfilled. But now I am coming to
you, and I speak these things in the
world so that they may have my joy
made complete in themselves. I have
given them your word, and the world
has hated them because they do not
belong to the world, just as I do
not belong to the world. I am not
asking you to take them out of the
world, but I ask you to protect them
from the evil one. They do not
belong to the world, just as I do
not belong to the world. Sanctify
them in the truth; your word is
truth. As you have sent me into the
world, so I have sent them into the
world. And for their sakes I
sanctify myself, so that they also
may be sanctified in truth."

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Beginning this Sunday, we will
have Veggie Tale Time, starting
at 9:15 in the Godly Play Room,
off the cloister.
This is a
Christian cartoon, snack, and
craft time.
All children are
welcome!
If you are Safe Guard
trained, please sign up for a
Sunday this summer. If you would
like to be a part of the
children's ministries or nursery
and are not yet Safe Guard
trained (program required by the
Diocese), please see Carol Lee
for an upcoming date.
NOT SO HOT TIME – THIS SUMMER AT
TRINITY!
The Building Committee is very
pleased to announce that Church
Insurance has authorized us to
purchase an air conditioning unit
to provide temporary cooling in
the church. The equipment is on
order and we are very hopeful
that we will have a cooler church
in about two weeks – maybe by
Trinity Sunday, which is June 7.
We’ll keep you posted on progress

Episcopal Center
(WTEC) is
hosting an end-of-year dinner for
students this Sunday evening.
Kyle Stillings, director of WTEC,
will also be our supply priest
this Sunday.
He would welcome

of
sweets
or
appetizers for the party. If you
can do this, please either bring
non-refrigerated items to church
on Sunday and give them to
Kyle or drop things off anytime
from early afternoon on at WTEC.
The party starts at 5:00 p.m.
SAFEGUARDING GOD'S CHILDREN TRAINING
JUNE 3
On Wednesday, June 3 at 6:30
pm, there will be a training
session for Safeguarding God's
Children.
Our very own, Karen
Peterson will be the instructor.
This class is a requirement to
participate in any child or youth
event at Trinity.
During the
summer, the Godly Play class will
be watching Veggie Tale movies
and 2 volunteers are needed each
week.
Please consider taking
this training so that you can be
a part of children's ministry
this summer. Our young families
are so important to Trinity!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR
GRADUATING SENIORS!
On Sunday, May 31, Trinity will
be
honoring our
graduating
seniors.
Each
senior
will
receive a prayer book during the
service and there will be an Ice
Cream Social after the service.
We are so proud of our seniors,
especially with the challenges of
Hurricane Ike:
Andrew Coleman,
Rachel McQuitty, Lauren Rice,
Keaton Richter, Ben Zein-Elden.
MARTHA NEEDS MORE HANDS
The
“Martha
Group”
of
ECW
provides
refreshments
for
receptions
after
funerals
at
Trinity and also, occasionally,
meals for Trinity families. Many
have noted an increase this year
in the number of funeral services
held. Lest we overtax the fairly
small group of “marthas” who
provide meals, cookies and snacks
for after-funeral receptions, we
are looking for volunteers.
If
you are willing to make cookies
or a meal and stash them in your
freezer, or in the freezer here
at church or to be called upon
occasionally to provide such food
for this ministry, please call
Anne Browne (409-457-9634) or let
the church office know and Anne
will call you.
MEET OUR NEWEST BISHOP
Plan to be at St. Michael’s, La
Marque, at 2:30 p.m. today, to
meet our new bishop, Andy Doyle,
in an
informal setting.
Andy
will become Bishop of the Diocese
of Texas in June when Bishop
Wimberly retires.
He is in his
early forties and will be our
Bishop for a long time!
He’s
also a wonderful and interesting
person who I think you will enjoy
getting to know.
SUPPER CLUB #2
Jon and Suzette Schultz will host
Supper Club II on May 30th at
6:00 pm.
Everyone will create
and barbeque their own pizzas.
We will put on some Jimmy Buffet
and Beach Boys music and play
Charades.
Dress is very casual
as it will be outside in the
screened porch.
Please RSVP to
409-737-4610
or
713-412-7565.
When we know how many are coming,
we will email a list of things
people
can
bring
and
also
directions. Everyone is invited!
