Tordis Tampen Field Development – Supplied engineering analysis and detailed design services to DOF Subsea Bergen office, including global analysis and detail design of crane guide wire work platform, 20 ton pull in chute and 5 ton pull-in wire chute Development of Horizontal Lay System – Completed the development of the scope of supply and functional specification of a horizontal lay system to be installed on a vessel of fleet of DOF Subsea. Completed the verification of the design of the HLS. 150 Ton Winch Arrangement on Crest Odyssey 2 – Carried out the detailed analysis of the tie-down requirements for a 150 ton winch and associated turn down sheaves on the Crest Odyssey 2 for Neptune, Australia. The winch was to be used for the Modec MV11 Mooring System Re-Tensioning. The analysis included the verification of the vessel to sustain the loads imposed by the winch during the re-tensioning operations 90’ Burnerboom on the Atwood Osprey – Involved in the verification of the design, analysis and installation of a Burnerboom on the Atwood Osprey for Neptune, Australia. Carried out verification of the design reports and analysis models. Also carried out the verification structural analysis of the burnerboom rest on the Osprey using STAADPro and MCAD. Gimboa Field Development Review – Part of review team from Knowledge Reservoir to evaluate the proposed future phase II development of the field. Particular responsibilities were the review and recommendations for the field layout and the subsea architecture. It also included the development of a budgetary estimate for the EPCI of the URF section of the development. Development of VLS Functional Specification – Completed the development of the functional specification of a vertical lay system to be installed on a vessel of fleet of DOF Subsea. The functional specification also included the carousel/reels and load out system. Development of Engineering Quality System – Completed the development of the revised engineering quality system to be inserted into the BMS of DOF Subsea northern region. The development included the production of the engineering processes, procedures, forms, templates, standards and guidance notes that eventually formed the engineering quality system. The system was audited successfully by DnV as part of the on-going process for maintaining the company’s ISO accreditation. Peer Review OML 26 Field Expansion, Nigeria - Part of a 3-man management peer review carried out by Endeavor Management Consultants into the viability of the expansion of the OML 26 field on behalf of Addax Petroleum, Geneva. This included the extension of the field licence, the extension of the lease of the existing FPSO or the lease of an alternative FPSO and the review of the planned subsea expansion of the field. Particular responsibility was the review of the planned subsea architecture expansion, including proposed in-field flowline and umbilcal routes and proposed additional manifolds and subsea structures. Expert Witness – Acting on behalf of the solicitors, carried out a full review of the technical documentation relating to pipeline protection and stabilisation products of two companies that were in dispute over rights and patents. Produced a technical report to be used by the solicitors in the planned court case. Forties Charlie to Delta Replacement Pipeline - Carried out the lift analyses, transportation analysis and seafastening designs for the four 8” dia. riser sections and associated strongbacks of the retro-fit replacement risers for Forties Charlie and Delta Platforms, using STAADPro and MCAD . The riser sections and associated strong backs were successfully lifted from the quayside, installed on to the outriggers on the vessel, transported to site and lifted from the vessel to be wet stored on the seabed. This fast track project meant that the seafastenings were designed, fabricated and installed on the vessel and the riser sections were transported and wet stored all in a period of 4 weeks. Provided direction on the development and the production of URF EPCI Tenders for the AP Region. Oct 2007 to June 2008. BP, Baku – Project Manager, DWG East Manifold DeepWater Gunashli, Baku . Project Manager on the Deepwater Gunashli Project, responsible for the installation and commissioning of the East Flank water injection manifold of the field development. This reimbursable project of $98M value involved the design, construction and installation of a six valve manifold, four jumpers to trees, a 5km umbilical and two 5km flexible flowlines. Responsible for all aspects relating to the fabrication and installation of the manifold, flowlines, jumpers, flying leads, and spools. Feb. 2004 to Sept 2007. BP, Paris – Package Delivery Manager, Offloading Terminal and FPSO Moorings Greater Plutonio Development Project, Angola. The Greater Plutonio development, located in deepwater offshore Angola (a water depth of approximately 1300 metres), has proven resources in six fields with an anticipated field life of 25 years. An FPSO is used as a hub processing the fluids produced from or injected into the subsea production and injection wells. The production comes from the six subsea manifolds. Responsible for management, delivery and installation of the FPSO mooring systems including the suction anchors (a 12 leg semi-taut system). Responsibilities included verification of the design of the mooring system by the design contractor, the TPV of the system by MCS, the wave basin and wind tests, the fabrication and construction of the mooring system components, the verification of the mooring pull-in system on the FPSO and was offshore as the Company Rep. during installation of the FPSO mooring system. Also responsible for the design, fabrication and installation of the Offloading Terminal comprising a 1100 ton CALM buoy, moored by 7 number semi-taut legs, with 2 no. 18” x 2500m long semi submersible Oil Offloading Lines from the FPSO and the export to tanker by a 500m long floating house string. Responsibilities included all technical, commercial, interface, schedule, quality and HSSE aspects of this $00M package. Dec. 2001 to Feb. 2004. Stolt Offshore, Paris – Project Eng. Manager, Pipelines and Structures Scarab/Saffron Development Project – Subsea Pipelines and Structures Design, Fabrication and Installation The project involved the development of a subsea field in offshore Egypt in 600m of water. The facilities included 36”, 24” and 20” trunk lines, a 300T subsea PLEM, two 80T manifolds with suction pile foundations, a 50T SDA with suction pile foundation, eight 10” infield flowlines with PLETS, infield jumpers, and infield and main umbilical lines and all shore approach works. The contract had a value of $240M. Responsible for the design, fabrication and installation engineering of the pipelines and all the subsea facilities. This included the organisation and day-to-day operations of the engineering manpower (design and installation); the approval of all engineering associated with the subsea facilities; and the responsibility for the work associated with the fabrication and third party verification subcontractors. Also completed the development of a complete Invitation to Tender for the subsea repair of the 24” export pipeline which was buckled during trenching operations. Completed detailed calculations as and when required, such as transportation analyses, structural analyses, pipeline handling, spanning and buckling. Finally, responsible for the development of the as-built package for the subsea field. April 2000 to Dec. 2001. Zakum Development Company, Abu Dhabi – Senior Subsea Engineer Responsibilities included: Pipeline Engineer on the design and installation of 16” effluent water pipeline. Responsible for checking and approval of the engineering documents of the pipeline contractor. Pipeline Engineer responsible for re-formatting the EPRS of Zadco to incorporate new technology such as mechanical connectors and plugging and isolation techniques for pipelines. Responsible for the specification, technical evaluation and purchasing of these items. Pipeline Engineer responsible for integrity checks on the Main Oil Lines within Zadco responsibility. Checks include upheaval buckling calculations, spanning calculation, corroded pipeline integrity calculations. Cormorant Alpha – Shell Study into the methods possible to isolate a 36” ‘dead leg’ pipeline spur within the cells of Cormorant Alpha. The study incorporated methods using drilling isolation techniques and pipeline isolation techniques. Jan 97 - June 99. SASP Offshore Engineering, Fano, Italy – Senior Structural/Pipeline Engineer GFSAT – Phase II Export Pipelines – Statoil Responsible for the conceptual and detail design of two SSIV subsea valve stations and two tie-in valve stations and the associated expansion spools. Specific duties include the completion of the piping and valve layout and design, the structural design and analysis, the cathodic protection analysis and the foundation and stability analysis. Also prepared the project plan, the CTR’s, histograms and manpower requirements for the detailed design part of the project. Karous Development Project, Egypt - Agip Responsible for the conceptual and detail design of two 50 tonne PLEM’s. Specific duties included the structural design and analysis of the structures and the foundation and pile analysis, the production of the installation specification and the production of the tender packages for the fabrication and installation of the structures. Also prepared the project plan, the CTR’s, histograms and manpower requirements for the project. Bouri Subsea Wells Project, Lybia - Agip Responsible for the work carried out by a design subcontractor. In subcontractors’s offices as client’s representative during the detailed design of a subsea shut-down valve structure for four flowlines and the detailed design of seven retro-fit J-Tubes. Duties included the day-to-day supervision of the work and the verification of all the design reports produced by the designers. Global Deepwater Initiative - Agip/Saipem Employed on this research and development project which involved the study of the requirements for the installation of production facilities and pipelines in water depths of up to 2000m. Duties included the basic design of subsea process structures and equipment, and the development of installation/intervention procedures. Subsea Separation System Design. Employed on the basic design of a subsea separator and ESP injection system. Duties included the system architecture design, the basic design and analysis of the subsea structure, the production of the onshore test specifications, and the production of the system specifications and installation/intervention procedures. Feb 96 - Jan 97. Brown and Root/Rockwater Ltd, Aberdeen – Senior Structural/Pipeline Engineer Umm Shaif - Platform Analysis for Provision of Intelligent Pigging Systems - ADMA-OPCO, Abu Dhabi This project involved the basic design for the provision of intelligent pigging services between the ABK TIP platform and Das Island. Duties included the full analysis of the offshore platform in its existing and its modified condition, and the analysis of the onshore structures necessary to support the pig receiver. Maersk Dan Field Bundle Pipeline This project involved the design and installation of a three-line pipeline bundle, six expansion spools and a platform riser. Duties included the structural design of the bundle towheads, the functional design of the pipeline expansion spools, the structural design of the bundle spacers, and the installation design of the permanent works. Aug 95 - Feb '96. Subsea Offshore Ltd, Aberdeen – Senior Project Engineer Dolphin Gas Field Development Project, Trinidad - Pipeline Tie-ins This project involved the installation of a riser, a riser guard, two spoolpieces and three side tap protection covers. Duties included the responsibility for the production of the installation design reports, the procedure reports and the transportation and seafastening reports. Also responsible for the project requirements involved in the diving operations and the fabrication of the permanent works at SSOL's facility in New Orleans. Responsible for loading out the permanent works from New Orleans and was offshore as the project engineer on the DSV Discovery during the installation in offshore Trinidad. Amoco Trinidad - Teak D Pipeline Repair Project Sole engineer on the repair of two pipelines for Amoco. One 16" pipeline was repaired in three places by installing "Plidco" repair clamps. The second pipeline rupture was repaired using "Hydrotech" connectors and a closing spoolpiece. Snamprogetti Ltd, Aberdeen – Principal Structural Engineer Harding Field Development - Installation of Pipeline Completed the necessary design reports on behalf of the installation contractor, Ugland UK Ltd for the installation of 2km pipeline by the snap-lay method using Hunting Connectors. The pipeline was installed in 75m pipestrings and connected subsea by these remotely operated connectors. Reports included the design of the pipestring installation spreader beam, the seafastenings, the installation design of the pipestring and of the Pipeline End Manifold (PLEM), and the installation procedures for the pipestrings and the PLEM Beatrice Field Abandonment Study Part of a two man study team to completed an abandonment study for the four platforms of the Beatrice Field for BP. A removal study was completed for the topside, jacket, piles and bridges based on available vessels and equipment. From this a schedule of operations was completed which lead to a overall abandonment budget cost being produced. Aug 94 - Apr 95. Rockwater A/S, Stavanger – Lead Structural Engineer Troll Phase 1 - Shore Approach Tie-Ins Installation and tie-in of four spoolpieces. Duties included the supervision of all permanent and temporary works design, and the supervision of fabrication of the Permanent Works. The spoolpieces were transported on the Regalia, which meant that four onboard structures were required (each approx 30 T) to seafasten the spools. Personal duties also included the completion of the lift analyses for the spoolpieces and the design and fabrication of subsea protection structures and pipeline receiving structures Oct 93 - Jul 94. Statoil, Stavanger – Project Engineer Europipe Pipeline Development Project Part of the management team in the contractor's offices for the installation of 900 Te subsea structure and 180 Te tie-in spoolpiece. Responsible for the checking and verification of the engineering completed by the contractor, and for the interfaces with the jacket and subsea structure fabricators. Offshore for 30 days on DSV as client's representative during the welding and grouting of the structure. April 93 - Oct 93. Occidental Petroleum Ltd – Project Engineer Scapa Field Development Project Responsible for the fabrication and installation of a 36" OD caisson bundled riser (180 Te) and a 24" OD caisson bundled J-tube (70 Te). Responsibilities included evaluation of fabricators for bid list, production of bid documents and selection of fabricator, initial agreement of budget and subsequent control of budget for fabrication and installation of risers. Checking of design and drawings from an operational and installation viewpoint, responsible for the fabrication site team and ensuring that the risers were fabricated and installed in an economic and timely manner. Offshore as Occidental Engineering Representative on the Hermod and the Tharos during the installation of the risers. Reassigned to the Installation of the Scapa Template Assisted in the approval of all installation engineering and procedures required for the installation of the docking pile guide frame, the 30" template piles, the template and the swaging of the piles into the BUE pile cans. Oceaneering International – Senior Structural Design/Project Engineer Inspection and Analysis of Flare Tripod System in Fatah Field for Dubai Petroleum Company Duties included the setting up of the job packs for the underwater and topside inspection program. Carried out an "as-inspected" analysis of the Flare Tripod System using the STRAN program suite. Completed the analysis package for presentation to the client in Dubai. Study of the Practical Performance of Typical Repairs to Steel Jackets for DNV Veritec The study covered four types of welded and grouted clamp repairs to jackets in depths ranging from (-) 15 m to (-) 156 m. The weld repairs were investigated for being completed in both habitat and coffer dam environments. 14" OD Spoolpiece Installation at Statfjord C for Gullfaks Line for Statoil Duties included the design and stability analysis of the cell top habitat. Also responsible for the analysis of the spoolpiece deployment from the DSV Arctic Seal. Jacket Repair on Chevron Ninian Southern Platform The project involved repair by Hyperbaric welding methods a fractured 1200 OD horizontal brace at el (-) 43 m. The pup pieces introduced into the member were fitted with flanges, so enabling the Hydratite equipment to be used to induce tension back into the member. Responsible for the duties of the project team which were to develop the engineering, the procedures and the final report for the project. Amoco Leman Field Jacket Repair Project The project involved replacing two damaged braces and repairing all cracks at (-) 20 ft. The welds were performed using coffer dam and habitat hyperbaric welding repair techniques. Duties included preparing the initial bid package, designing the coffer dam and all other installation aids, developing the operational procedure document and completing the final report for the project. Boat Fender Installation for Three Jackets for CPC Dubai Employed in the Dubai Office where completed the design of the coffer dam and installation aids, and completed a local analysis on the effects of this repair on the structure.
