The main areas of business in the UK include Front End Engineering Design through to Detailed Design of subsea structural and pipeline systems, project management including procurement and construction support, feasibility studies, subsea architecture and subsea pipeline asset integrity management. Principle clients include leading oil companies such as BP, ExxonMobil, Talisman, Chevron, and leading installation contractors including Subsea7, Bibby Offshore, Bluewater, and Hardware Suppliers. Commercial Growth: In general terms, it is the company’s intent to double the overall turnover of the company over the next three years, with the UK operations doubling its turnover. For the UK operation, this will predominantly be through international growth and will require a significant increase in personnel levels including structural, mechanical, pipeline, subsea, procurement, project, project management and materials disciplines. Main Duties and Responsibilities Discipline Duties and Responsibilities: Technical responsibility for assigned project tasks The co-ordination and supervision of assigned engineering works To develop engineering personnel assigned to support project. Ability to liaise with other disciplines and manage progress meetings with clients and third parties when requested Proactively involved in the motivation of less senior personnel to meet project targets To support less senior personnel in understanding the requirements of their activities and roles Principal Objectives: To conduct project assignments, including the supervision and co-ordination of engineering work To offer a broad knowledge of engineering experience at a senior professional level under a self supervising basis L:\HR & Recruitment\Job Specs and Descriptions\Discipline Job Descriptions Technical Skills: Structural analysis and design including: Developing subsea structure configurations to suit equipment layout, onshore construction and offshore installation/intervention requirements (SSIV, Manifold, towheads, PLAM, etc.) In-place, transportation and lifting/installation design Working knowledge with LPIFD method (ISO 19902, B55950, AISC 360-10 LRFD and EC3) Detail design and structural analysis of all structural appurtenances, such as friction clamps, lifting points, equipment supports, impact/protection design Detailed design of deep and shallow foundations including pile driveability, gravity base foundations and suction anchors Detailed knowledge of analysis software (FS2000 or SACS) Basic knowledge of geotechnical survey information and interpretation for shallow and deep foundation design Basic knowledge and assessment of welding details Input to detailed design of seafastenings including installation aids for typical subsea equipment, structures, spoolpieces, reel bases, containers etc. Rigged design and as per HIOG deployment assessment Fatigue analysis Proficient working knowledge of industry software packages including FS2000 and MathCAD Working knowledge of ABAQUS preferred Preparation of design reports and calculation packages Person Specification Experience Required: Minimum 5 years post- graduate experience including offshore and structural design Chartered Engineering status preferred (or working towards CEng) Qualifications & Education: BSc/BEng or equivalent in engineering subject or extensive proven specialist subject experience Chartered Engineering status preferred (or working towards CEng) Personnel Skills: Display a proactive approach to HSE and have full awareness of the company’s HSE Management system Compliance with company’s QA policies & systems Ensure that all work complies with the company’s business management system Ensure effective communication between project team members Ensure proper electronic storage of all project documentation Support project controllers in the management of documents and project correspondence Ensure that local work area is tidy L:\HR & Recruitment\Job Specs and Descriptions\Discipline Job Descriptions
