This conference is jointly organized by Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, and the Sarawak State GovernmentINTAN.
THEME: PREPARING KNOWLEDGE WORKERS FOR NATION BUILDING
DATE: 15 AND 16 JUNE 2003
VENUE: KUCHING HILTON, KUCHING, SARAWAK
The premise of this conference is the promoting and disseminating of information on HRD theories and
practices for knowledge workers at micro and macro levels. The conference is meant for anyone interested
in human resources and the various aspects of using the work force effectively.
There is a call for papers. Anyone interested in presenting a paper at the conference is requested to send in
a 250-word abstract, together with affiliation/address, email id, phone number or fax number, the
completed registration form and the fees of RM 450.00. The registration forms can be obtained with the
flyers or presenters can register online at http://www.unimas.my/hrdc2003. The organizers prefer that the
abstract be emailed to them. The deadline is 30 June 2003.
Non-presenting participants have only to fill in the registration form and pay the fees of RM 450.00.

IPRMSA- UiTM SEMINAR 2003
There is a call for student papers for the up-coming seminar organized by the Institute of Public Relations
Malaysia Student Association (IPRMSA)- Universiti Technologi MARA Chapter in collaboration with
IPRMSA- National Chapter. The objective of the seminar is to promote an awareness of how public
relations and communication can contribute to national unity, peaceful resolution of conflicts and world
peace.

Speakers will be from among prominent figures in Public Relations and Communication as well as
communication students.
Students intending to present papers are to email their abstracts to the Secretariat. Priority will be give to
papers that address the seminar theme. Papers should be typed, single –sided and double –spaced. A soft
copy of the paper has to be submitted to. Each speaker is allocated 10 minutes.
All papers must be submitted by 10 July 2003. Those interested in attending the seminar have to submit the
registration form and the seminar fees of RM 15.00 by 10 July 2003.
