POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS
You will be preparing 2 different reports.
You will be presenting both to the class. You
will be graded on content and presentation
skills.
Requirements: At least 15 slides per topic.
Select one from List 1 and one from List 2 .
Slides must include:
1. 12 photos of designs worn during the period or designed by the designer
At least 12 photos of the women’s clothing worn during the period in history you are
researching.
If your topic is a designer, you must include at least 15 photos of womenswear designed
by the designer.
2. If your topic is a particular designer, you must include a photo of the designer
also.
3. A paragraph of at least 20 sentences with correct spelling and grammar written
in your own words, not copied and pasted from the internet. You will receive no
credit for copy/pasted information.
The paragraph must include:
1.The definition of the period of historical costume.
What was the style of dress during this time?
2. Personal Biography of the designer and/or Historical influences of the era during that
time period.
Answer the question- What were the influences on dress during that time? i.e. the
queen at that time, famous film stars or presidential wives of the time, a war, etc…
3. Detailed description of styles worn during the time period or designed by the
designer.
Be specific. i.e.- bias cut dresses, tight waists with huge flaired skirts, straight shifts or
chemises, menswear looks for women, hoop skirts, corsets, bustled back dresses,
extreme hairstyles, etc…
4. Specific details on trims and fabrics. What fabrics and trims did the designer use?
5. What particular styles did the designer/period create? For example, Christian Dior
with the New Look. Paul Poiret –the hobble skirt.
