Attachment 1. List of application documents

All documents submitted to the admission office for the purpose of consideration for admission to KIMEP University programs will not be returned, except for the originals of secondary education credentials and certificates of UNT, KTA, SFLT, as well as international certificates (TOEFL, IELTS, DSH, TestDaF, TFI, DELF, DALF, TCF etc).

1.1 For undergraduate applicants

 Application form

 Copy of passport or State ID

 6 photos of 3x4 cm size

 High school diploma/professional vocational school diploma/bachelor diploma (authentic copy)

 UNT or Comprehensive Testing certificate

 Motivational essay (see Attachment 6)

 Medical certificate - Form # 086-U or its equivalent for foreign citizens

(Attachment 9)

 If available: Valid results of International English Proficiency Tests (IELTS,

TOEFL, Cambridge English Exam, etc.)

 Upon their own discretion, an applicant may include other documents, he/she believes to be relevant for inclusion into the application package, such as copies of certificates, awards, and honors in the applicant’s sphere of interest from the past 3 years, in particular documentation received at national and international levels

1.2 For undergraduate transfer applicants

For students that are transferring or being reinstated from other universities in Kazakhstan

 Transfer or Reinstatement Request;

 Copy of passport or State ID

 6 photos of 3x4 cm size

 Medical certificate - Form # 086-U or its equivalent for foreign citizens (Attachment

9)

 Student status letter from the previous institution (with indication of year(s) of study, program and form of study);

 Motivational essay (see Attachment 6). i.

Transfer request to the head of the previous institution of higher education (signed and stamped by the head), documented after the official admission to KIMEP University; ii.

Official copy of student record/ transcript from the previous university; iii.

Academic standing confirmation; iv.

Unified National Testing (UNT) or Comprehensive Testing (CTA) certificate; v.

Document(s) confirming completion of secondary education (attestat) with supplemental support;

With the purpose of considering the possibilities of credit transfer or fast-track studies (for professional vocational schools) the following should also be submitted:

 Original copy of a transcript (with description of grading system and of learning hours);

 License of the Institution of Higher Education;

 Confirmation of attestation by MES;

 Description of courses approved by the academic department.

For students transferring or being reinstated from foreign universities

 Transfer or Reinstatement Request;

 Copy of passport or of State ID

 Student atatus letter from the previous institution (with indication of year(s) of study, program and form of study);

 Motivational essay (see Attachment 6).

 Official copy of student record/ transcript from the previous university;

 Document confirming completion of secondary education (attestat) with supplemental support;

 For persons that completed the general secondary (secondary general) or technical and/or professional education within the Republic of Kazakhstan when transferring or being reinstated from the foreign university shall present credentials on study programs completed (academic reference letter, transcript), the UNT or KTA are required according to the state admission rules

1.3 For applicants taking the KTA. Applicants taking the KTA also have to submit:

 Written request according to the established form

 High school or professional vocational school diploma (original)

 Test fee payment (receipt)

 Two additional photos of 3 x 4 cm size

 Medical certificate - Form # 086-U or its equivalent for foreign citizens (Attachment

 Copy of passport or State ID

1.4 For graduate program applicants

Medical certificate - Form # 086-U or its equivalent for foreign citizens . The certificate should be valid at the moment of admission - 25 August of corresponding year (Attachment 9)

If available: a.

Valid results of International Language Proficiency Tests (copy of

List of research and scientific-methodical works

Upon own discretion, an applicant may include other documents he/she believes to be relevant for inclusion into the application package, such as copies of certificates, awards, and honors in the applicant’s sphere of interest, in particular ones received at national and international levels

Applicants who plan to pass the state Entrance examination in foreign, Kazakh and

Russian language have to submit the following documents, not later than one day before the exam registration deadline:

SFLT Exam taker’s application form (from Admission Office)

Original of the exam fee payment check payable to the National Testing Center

12.

Copy of state ID, if only a copy of passport was submitted earlier (requirement for Kz citizens only).

All above mentioned documents (except for points#2, 4, 7) should be submitted in either Russian, Kazakh or English language. Documents in other languages should be accompanied by original or copy of certified translation. Documents mentioned in points#2, 4, 7 should be submitted in Kazakh or Russian languages. If these documents are in other languages (including English), they should be accompanied by original or copy of certified translation.

Copies of documents have to be submitted to the admission officer together with originals.

After authentification the originals are given back to the owners 1 .

1.5 For DBA program applicants

 Application form;

 Copy of passport or of State ID

 6 color matt photos of 3x4 cm size;

 Copy of a document on completion of Master degree or Residency completion for medical specializations;

 Personnel record card and a document confirming employment (for persons having an employment records), professional CV;

 Medical certificate - Form # 086-U or its equivalent for foreign citizens

 Essay of intention (500 words or less), reflecting the academic and professional interest of an applicant; how an applicant will be professionally and personally using knowledge and skills obtained in the DBA program; strengths and special qualities of the applicant which will help him/her to be successful in a doctorate program; reasons for selecting KIMEP University

 Justification of envisioned thesis research agreed with the local and foreign supervisers

 List of research and scientific-methodical works (if available)

 Applicants who pass Entrance examinations in Foreign languages following the method developed by the National Testing Center (NTC) of the Ministry of

Education and Science of Kazakhstan have to submit prior to exam original of the exam fee payment check payable to the NTC and after the exam - original of the exam certificate with score results

 Valid results of international tests (TOEFL, GMAT or equivalent)

 Upon own discretion, an applicant may include other documents he/she believes to be relevant for inclusion into the application package, such as copies of certificates, awards, and honors in the applicant’s sphere of interest, in particular ones received at national and international levels

Copies of documents have to be submitted to the admission officer together with originals.

After authentification originals of document are given back to the owners 2 .
