Brisbane-based author of LEVIATHAN, John
Birmingham , for Author Talk & Book Signings.
Adapted & directed by Stefo Nantsou and based on
the book Leviathan by John Birmingham, Leviathan
is a Sydney Theatre Co & HCC co-production
featuring local cultural groups and STC ‘s Resident
acting ensemble.
A Multicultural Poetry project from the Macedonian
Literary Association now presents culturally diverse
local poets each reflecting on themes of community
harmony and peace in their new home, Australia.
Winner of 30 awards and an Academy Award
nominated Before The Rain is in Macedonian with
English subtitles
Australian Macedonian Theatre of Australia
presents a new tragi-comic theatre work with a
vibrant cast including Leviathan director, Stefo
Nantsou.
Performances in most of Hurstville’s nursing homes
by golden performers for seniors who can no
longer come out easily to enjoy the festival.
Al Zahra Muslim Women’s Association together
with Council have developed a Directory of Muslim
Artists to launch here together with an exhibition of
their multi media work.
A forum in partnership with the LGSA & Accessible
Arts exploring best practise in community cultural
development targeting disability & diversity.
Premiere radio theatre performance & broadcast of
new short plays written by new local writers.
Youth explore ideas around sustainability using
‘Theatre Sports” A 3-day workshop at Shopfront
leads to this showcase.
Winners of the 2010 Poetry & Prose competition
will be announced with readings, refreshments and
books books books.
Library to celebrate new young creative writers
group with launch of their first collection.
Resourceful Australian Indian Network together
with Abhinay Indian School of Performing Arts &
Council present this festival for the whole
community – adjacent to Hurstville Oval.
To be introduced by the film makers including
Virginia Field, “This film is about everything – about
every Aboriginal person who has a relationship with
a non-Aboriginal person”
Abhinay Indian School of Performing Arts will visit
all our Child Care Centres to share some Hindi
culture, language, dance, and sweets.
