SCOPE OF WORK: To monitor and assist students and faculty in the Academic Support
Center at Nashua Community College and to assist staff with scheduling and special projects.
This position shall report to the chair of the Developmental Studies Department at Nashua
Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:








Assists students with the use of computers, various software programs, Plato and
computerized self-paced software.
Provides basic Blackboard support for NCC students and faculty.
Conducts Plato and Microsoft Word orientations.
Monitors student use of the Academic Support Center and monitors student sign-in and
sign-out in the Academic Support Center.
Assists staff as needed in preparation for and during academic events as they occur.
Adheres to the policies and procedures of the Academic Support Center in regard to
punctuality, professionalism and courtesy to all.
Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of two years high school or its equivalent.
Experience: No experience required.
License/Certification: None required.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Some knowledge of proper English usage and
grammar. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to learn
assigned clerical tasks readily and to adhere to prescribed departmental procedures. Ability to
make simple arithmetical computations and tabulations accurately and with reasonable speed.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the
general public. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and
responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
