Students will plan and create an alphabet book on the Civil War. Each page of the book will include an illustration and historical information about the Civil War so that each of the 26 letters of the alphabet is represented. This historical information must be one to two paragraphs in length and the illustration must relate to the historical information. You will be graded on creativity, thoroughness, accurate Civil War information, neatness and craftsmanship.

Research the 26 terms of your choosing.

Write the terms and definitions on notebook paper and keep in your folder.
3.
Plan and create your picture book.
Your book should contain the following:
 A decorated cover with your name as the author
 Each letter of the alphabet represented on a separate page
 A thorough definition of each word written in your own words so that a younger child can understand
 An illustration for each term. Illustrations can be drawn, copied, cut from a magazine or printed from the computer. If you use someone else’s drawing or photograph. You must give them credit or you will not get credit. You may cite on each page or create a citation page.
 This project will be completed in class and will remain in the classroom.
You may bring pictures from home.
 The book can be handwritten neatly or typed.
 Upon completion, the project will be bound into a book. You may use a report cover, a folder (with brads), a notebook or any other creative means that you bring from home.
 You will need to bring a minimum of 27 sheets of white copy paper so that
I may print the book for you in class.
