Given by Helen Kon, Assistant Director General public programs at the National Library, the talk will focus on how such an exhibition was managed when the demand to see it was unprecedented. Search Tip extraordinaire- The Age online Use Google's advanced search http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en to access Age articles. Just enter your keywords and limiting your search to the domain theage.com.au to access online archives. This is a hit and miss affair, as some articles may have simply been removed from The Age's site. Many thanks to Glenn Harper from Frankston and Maryanne Gosling from ERL for this tip. Debating Database http://www.debatabase.org Great for students involved in public speaking and debates. The debatabase comes from the International Debating Education Association, whose mission is to promote mutual understanding and democracy globally by supporting discussion and active citizenship locally. The debatabase can be searched via keyword or themes, with the latest topics posted on the front page. A search for "Drugs in Sport" brings up for and opposing arguments, with referrals for more information to web links and books. For the history buffs… http://www.history.uk.com/ A site that describes itself as the "ultimate UK history directory". The site can be searched via keyword, or browsed, using a timeline from 10,000 BC to the present day, or topics.
