Successful educators combine many different methods of teaching to create a dynamic classroom where students will feel motivated to learn. Some of my teaching methods are positive reinforcement, independent learning, observed learning, instructional grouping and lectures. As students study each topic, I look for ways to integrate these methods into a lesson plan so students will not only learn the subject material well but they will also "learn to learn."

I look forward to a great year with all students. My goal is to see that all students have an opportunity to be successful. With the efforts of the student, the teacher, and the parent I feel that this will be accomplished.

Each year students receive a list of rules by their teachers. These rules vary little in their wording, but it is important that the student understands the teacher’s interpretation of these rules. The following are my basic rules:

1.

Excessive talking will not be permitted.

2.

Be seated at the designated seat before the class starts.

3.

Respect the rights and feelings of all people in the classroom.

4.

Come prepared for class each day (paper, pen, handouts given, folder).

5.

No profanity or physical altercations will be permitted in or near the classroom or on the job site. Follow all directions given by instructor.

I believe all my students can achieve their goals for this class. Being successful requires each student to come prepared for work each day. The following are my expectations of all students:

1.

Student must bring all materials to class each day. (Paper, pen, handouts given, folder)

2.

All class assignments must be written legibly in pencil, blue/black ink, or typed. (A few assignments must be typed)

3.

Student must maintain a classroom folder containing all assignments from this class.

Folder will be graded each and every grading period. Folder will have an Absolute Due

Date , and must be turned in on that date. No excuses will be accepted. Student will receive prior notice (one to two week notice) of due date.

4.

Late assignments will be accepted with full credit on the next due-date. If student turnsin late assignments, the assignment will be marked Late Work and score ma be reduced up to 50%.

Late assignments with an excuse absence are to be turn in within a time limit to receive full credit. Late assignments will only be accepted a week before each benchmark grading period is over.

5.

Syllabus is subject to change.
