Study Tips- Important!! Please Read! - An understanding of chemistry is obtained one step at a time, by building on concepts and skills that were previously learned. Therefore, it's very important to keep up with the material presented in the course. This is most easily done by staying up-to-date with reading the textbook, attending lectures regularly, working the homework problems diligently, and studying the material every day. You will not do well in this course if you wait until the night before an exam to study. Accommodations Statement “Valdosta State University complies fully with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you believe that you are covered under this act, and if you have need for special arrangements to allow you to meet the requirements of this course, please contact the Access Office for Students with Disabilities in Nevins Hall-Room 1115, 245-2498. Also, please discuss this need with me at the time of the first class.” Academic Student Conduct Code You may not use your textbook during examinations and quizzes. Any form of cheating will result in a zero in that exam, accompanied by judicial proceedings in accordance with Valdosta State University’s policy on academic honesty. Useful information is located in Section I of the Student Code of Conduct, located in the Student Handbook. Pagers and Cell Phones: Cell phones are to be “turned off” or kept in the “vibrate mode” I wish everyone the best this semester. I hope it will be a positive learning experience for all involved.
