All library books must be returned.
If your child has a fine or needs to pay for
a lost book, please take care of that as

Energy Express
Space is still available for Energy
Express. If you have not returned your
child’s application, please do so. If your
child did not receive an application, but
you would like for him/her to attend,
contact Mrs. Eddy for an application.
SPL Presentation
Kim Kehrer, Pleasants County’s
director of federal programs, will be at
SMES to share information about SPL –
Support for Personalized Learning. The
presentation will be Thursday, 23 May at
4:00 pm in the school cafeteria.
Students who attend with their
parents may play on the inflatables from
4:00 to 5:00 pm.
2013 Summer Reading Program
Register for The Pleasants County
Public Library’s summer reading program,
Dig into Reading. This free program runs
from 3 June through 3 August.
Participants will participate in a variety of
programs and activities for different age
groups. There are give aways and prizes.

Reading and Spelling
Our story this week is Me and Uncle
Romie (p. 248-269) by Claire Hartfield and
illustrated by Jerome Lagarrigue. The test
will be Friday, 24 May.
Spelling words for the week are
words with vowel sounds in tooth and
cook. The test will be Friday, May 24.
Math
We will be reviewing skills from the
year and continuing our work with
multiplication facts.
Multiplication Scoops
Congratulations to Fayth
Sunderman, Ethan Davis, Madison Eaton,
Jonathan Goodfellow, and Stephanie
Satterfield for memorizing the
multiplication facts for the ice cream
scoop challenge. These students were
treated to ice cream sundaes on Friday.
