MathXL® is an interactive website where you can:

Receive step-by-step help to solve math problems.
Self-test & work through practice exercises to improve your math skills.
Study more efficiently through personalized study plans and exercises that match your book.
Get help WHEN you need it. MathXL includes multimedia learning aids, like videos and animations.
What do you need to get started?
 A PC computer running Windows® 2000 or XP
 An Internet connection
 Microsoft Internet Explorer® 6.0 or higher(selected courses in Calculus and Statistics also work with supported versions of
Netscape; got to http://www.mathxl.com/support/system.htm for details)
 A MathXL Student Access Code
 Your instructor’s name and the name of your course (or, to study independently, the author, title, and edition of your
textbook)
What steps do I take next?
If you bought a NEW book, use the access code inside the MathXL Student Access Kit that was packaged with you textbook
and follow the steps below.
If you bought a USED book, you can either purchase a MathXL Student Access Kit access at your bookstore or go to
www.mathxl.com, click the Buy Now button (as shown above), follow the on-screen prompts, and then skip to step 4 below.

Go to www.mathxl.com & click the Register button.

Leave No, I Am a New User selected and enter your six-word student access code, zip code and country.
Fill in the requested personal information, and then create your unique Login Name and Password. It’s
recommended that you use your email address as your login name.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your registration.
Go to www.mathxl.com, enter the login name and password you created during registration, and click the Enter
button.
Click the Enroll in a New Course button. .. if your professor is not requiring the MathXL use the following information
in step 7.
You will need the Zipcode, Use 96782 . .Your instructor’s name: Math XL Leeward CC. Select your course from

the drop down menu, ex. math73, math 83

Click the Enroll button.
Click the Run installation wizard now button to install necessary software on your computer. You must run the
Installation Wizard before using MathXL. (Note: The software may already be installed in the school lab. Check with
your lab administrator.)
10) After running the Installation Wizard, close your Internet Browser.
11) Open your Internet browser again and log back into MathXL at www.mathxl.com. You can now start working in your
MathXL course!
