First of all, thank you for all you do to support your child in our school. As we partner with you
for the education of your child, your efforts do not go unnoticed.
I am always on the lookout for new and innovative tools to encourage reading. I have
identified the Reading Rewards interactive reading log and reading incentive program
(www.reading-rewards.com) as one such tool, and have decided to introduce it into this
year’s curriculum.
While Reading Rewards’ basic functionality is free, there is now a Premium account for
teachers that offers significant advantages. Specifically, the Premium account would let
me:

Create all my students’ accounts very efficiently

Comment on students’ reading log entries and book reviews

Assign reading to the children and monitor their progress against these assignments

Quiz students on the books they’ve read, to assess their reading comprehension

Define custom badges to recognize the progress of students

Provide you with detailed feedback on your children’s reading activities
This advanced functionality comes at a cost of $70 per year. My hope is that I can rally the
parents to help sponsor our Premium subscription to Reading Rewards. If the parents of
each child donate as little as $_____, I will be able to meet my goal of introducing this
valuable program into our curriculum.
