Selection and management of securities, introduction to the capital asset pricing model, role of options and futures markets, portfolio analysis and mutual funds. FINANCE 355 - (previously 455) REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT ANALYSIS Alternative analytical techniques in evaluating real estate investments. Tax aspects, measurement of investment returns, application of computer models to investment decisions. Lecture, discussions and case analysis of major investment types - raw land, apartment houses, commercial and industrial uses. FINANCE 360 - PRINCIPLES OF INSURANCE Life, casualty and liability insurance, individual and group insurance programs; methods of establishing risks and rates. FINANCE 410 - THEORY & PRACTICE OF PERSONAL FINANCIAL PLANNING Developing, implementing and monitoring comprehensive personal financial plans. Includes risk management, investment, taxation, retirement and estate planning, as well as professional practices. FINANCE 411 - RETIREMENT AND ESTATE PLANNING Development of retirement objective, needs and financial condition. Forecasting retirement income from employer based retirement plans. IRAs, insurance policies, social security, investment programs. Medicare, medical, group life and health benefits after retirement. Property titling, wills and transfers in contemplation of death. ACCOUNTING 308 –FUNDAMENTALS OF FEDERAL INCOME TAX - INDIVIDUAL Provisions, legislative history and implications of federal taxes. METHOD OF ENROLLMENT Students enrolled at CSUF as regular students need only enroll for the required courses and apply to sit for the Certified Financial Planner Examination. *HOW TO ENROLL AS AN ADJUNCT STUDENT* Individuals not formally admitted to the university, may register through the Office of Extended Education as adjunct students for regular classes. There is no application process or admission requirements for Adjunct students. Students must obtain a registration card at Extended Education office to be signed by the instructor. The signed card should be returned to the office along with tuition payment in order to be officially enrolled. Adjunct students must pay extension fees and observe extension regulations for change of program, fees, refunds and grades. The Extended Education Office is located at 2600 E.
