Southerners Sporting Club Inc Hopetoun WA Welcome to Southerners Sporting Club Inc Southerners is the local Hopetoun sporting club which coordinates football, netball and womens hockey for the community from April through to August. These sports are offered to seniors and juniors. Our club is part of the Ravensthorpe and Districts Winter Sports Association. This includes the townships of Hopetoun, Ravensthorpe (Tigers) and Lake King (Lakes). Our mascot is the SHARK and our colours are royal blue and white. All matches are played on Saturdays. Each town/club has 5 home games, 5 away games and 5 byes over the season. We travel to either Ravensthorpe (50kms) or Lake King (140kms) for our away games. See the fixtures card provided for dates and details. An entry fee of $5 to each sporting ground on each game day ($10 for finals) is expected to be paid by all players and spectators over 16. These entry fees help to cover umpire costs. Southerners also organise the annual Southerners Fishing Competition held every Easter, Cow Paddy day and numerous other social events through out the season. They are all organised for fundraising purposes. A presentation night is held in September for all current and life members to celebrate the season and to announce player awards.
