Real life shape challenge – Due in by Tuesday 9th October (Same day as set of instructions is due in!!) 1. Look around you and think about some examples of “real life” shapes. 2. You might think about the 2D shape which is on one face of the object, or you might think about the whole 3D shape. For example, one face of a brick is a rectangle, but the whole brick is a cuboid. 3. Find a picture of a real life object which is this shape – you might print one from the Internet or draw it yourself or cut it out of a magazine/newspaper. (It’s ok if the shape has other bits which you just ignore, for example, the stopwatch is a circle – ignore the buttons on the top.) 4. Put a label next to the picture saying what shape it is. There might be several shapes in the picture, for, example, the honeycomb is hexagonal and the jar is cylindrical. 5. Put a picture and label at least 8 of these shapes (2D or 3D) 2D - square, rectangle, rhombus, parallelogram, trapezium, quadrilateral, triangle, isosceles, scalene, equilateral, circle, semicircle, oval, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, octagon 3D – cube, cuboid, prism, pyramid, sphere,
