I am determined to succeed and possess passion and drive and a genuine hunger for knowledge. Whilst I can work well on my own, my work experiences have taught me the importance of teamwork and how to collaborate proficiently with others. I am keen to get into the industry and fully prepared to learn so that I can develop my niche. Work Experience Starworks Group – PR Intern – April - September 2014 During my time interning at STARWORKS Group I learnt about how a fashion PR agency works and with SWG being one of the most prestigious agencies it was a great experience. My daily duties consisted of liaising with the clients and gathering product needed for future photo shoots, pulling a selection of product to send to magazines, sending product to both domestic and international destinations. Searching for coverage and publicity of the represented brands was a large part of my day-to-day duties as well as assisting the Account Executives on showroom appointments. I was also lucky enough to work at both LC:M and LFW as part of the STARWORKS team. The internship allowed me to realise that I want to pursue a career in PR after graduating from University. Due to the success of this internship I have secured a 6 month placement in the SWG New York offices; starting in September. Net-a-Porter – Styling Editorial for The Edit (Internship) - August 2013 Throughout August I was lucky enough to secure an internship at The Edit; Net-a-Porter’s online magazine. The company was planning to launch the magazine in print due to its enormous online success and it was incredibly exciting observing the idea evolve. My duties consisted of creating style boards for the magazine and preparing mood boards of trends for the website/magazine videos. I was also lucky enough to get the opportunity to assist with the video shoot for the magazine with stylist Kim Hersov. Marks and Spencer – Assistant Buyer (Internship) - July 2013 I assisted the buying team at Autograph, a womenswear sub-brand within Marks and Spencer. They launched their newest range whilst I was there which gave me a fascinating insight into different aspects of the industry. I was invited to observe various meetings with suppliers as well as dealing with ‘fits’, in the presence of buyers, stylists and suppliers. During this internship I gained considerable insight into what makes a worldwide brand. Suzanne Bernie – Freelance Stylist – July 2011 I assisted Suzanne with general office administration in addition to sourcing and collating clothes for ongoing magazine campaigns and advertisements. Suzanne also styles notable celebrities and private individuals and hope to assist her again in the future should the opportunity arise. Mail on Sunday Newspaper- YOU Magazine supplement – August 2011 I also interned at YOU Magazine, a supplement for the Mail on Sunday, working directly under Philippa Bloom, fashion assistant and Megan McCluskie, fashion bookings editor. Although many of my duties were similar to when I was interning at S Magazine, I was able to immerse myself into my role as a fashion intern and gained a great deal more than my time at the express. I particularly enjoyed my assignment to research ‘up and coming’ ‘it’ girls for a forthcoming editorial. My selection criteria included girls who possessed individual style, quirky and current. Daily Express Newspaper – Fashion Department – July 2010 I assisted Assistant Fashion Editor Antonia Kraskowski. My duties involved wardrobe returns of clothes loaned for shoots, cataloguing clothes and liaising with PR companies. I was lucky enough to be involved in a photography shoot for an S Magazine fashion supplement. I aided with selecting clothes, accessories and shoes for an ‘Acid Brights’ theme and was allowed to have an input on the overall look and appearance of the model. I also steamed and prepared the clothes for the shoot. Employment History Beauty on Broadway/Pop up Cosmetics – Jan 2012 – August 2013 I worked part time during weekend and holiday periods selling a wide range of Cosmetics at pop up shops at different shopping Centre locations in London. My duties consisted of managing and displaying stock and organising future orders. My role was very much customer facing having gained valuable ‘people skill’ experience in my previous positions. Harvey Nichols July/December 2011 & January 2012 I worked in the Womenswear department at Harvey Nichols during their sale period. I was able to get a closer look at designers and their collections as well as understanding how their brand adapts to their audience; meaning whether couture or a diffusion line. This position allowed me to gain further experience dealing with customers and to work within a team. I really enjoyed my time there and returned for the January sale period. B&R Functions September 2007- February 2012 I worked weekends and evenings as a waitress for a catering company at Potters Bar Golf Club. My duties included preparing the restaurant and the overall appearance of the room, welcoming guests, serving food, operating the till and working behind the bar (non-alcoholic). This was an extremely demanding job as I often worked 8 hour day shifts followed by long night shifts when we held functions. I enjoyed working as part of a team and dealing with the customers. This was a good start to my working career and helped me develop my confidence.
