EXPERIENCE I
July 2004 –October 2012 - USD 465 Whittier Elementary Winfield, KS. In July of 2004 I was promoted to the position of Secretary/
Office Manager of Whittier Elementary. My duties are varied. I keep track of the school budget. I manage the office. I keep track of
all the student records for our school. I file all the necessary forms for the state. I create many communications items for the school.
I work closely with the computer accounting system called Powerschool. I keep track of all monies that come into the school. I assist
the Principal in keeping the schedule arranged. I oversee the lunch program for our school. I arrange for substitutes when necessary.
We share a nurse with 1 other elementary school. In her absence I take care of the medical issues which involves tracking the diabetic
students, fixing all the cuts and bruises and disbursing and logging medications just to name a few. Of course the phone rings off the
hook and we must communicate with the parents. I am in charge of enrollment which occurs in July. I work closely with
exceptionality programs for the school and make sure our student load balances with our coop. I keep track of the payroll for our
school. There are other things that I do as my administrator directs.
January 2002 - May 2004 - USD 465 Whittier Elementary Winfield, KS. My job during this time was that of a recess aide. My
responsibilities include providing supervision on the playground during recess, assisting teachers in the classroom with grading papers
and helping the students with reading and other areas. On many occasions I have been used as a sub for the study team and taken over
various classes. I administrated the Go Figure program, which is an auxiliary computation math program for grades 1-5. Last year I
implemented and administrated the TIA math program which was similar to Go Figure. There were quite a bit of clerical duties to this
program which I performed. I also worked in the library, filling in for librarian two 1/2 hour periods a week. I have other duties that
the principal assigns from time to time.
September 1990 - December 31, 1994 C.R. Anthony's, Ark City, KS. At this position I carried the title of area office leader. I ran
the office for this department store. This included such tasks as daily cash reports and deposits, recording and updating all journals,
the payroll, human resources and incoming and outgoing expenditures and etc. I also monitored the S & L for this store very closely.
I prepared for inventories. I also audited all transaction journals. The majority of this work was done on the computer using a DOS
program. Also for the majority of my employment with C.R. Anthony's I also acted as a key carrier. This store did not have an
assistant manager but a key carrier fulfilled this role. In the manager's absence I ran the store. I helped train three managers in the
office procedures.
November 1986 - 1989 Provident Life Insurance of Bismarck, ND. I worked for Provident in Watertown, SD in building an agency
of life insurance business under Dale Coughlin, general agent . When I moved to Ark City I then became a general agent contracting
new agents for the company. I also sold and serviced insurance.
November 1988 to July of 1989 Winfield Hospital and Training Center At this position I worked as a Nurse's Aide on the 11-7 shift.
This position consisted of direct patient care.
April 1986 - December 1986 Prudential Financial Services, PO Box 1148, Sioux Falls, SD (605-336-3616). With this company I
sold as well as serviced life, health, auto and homeowners. I also sold securities and was considered to be a financial planner.
November 1981 - March 1986 Loula's Country Store Food. At this place of employment I was responsible for opening the store six
days a week. This included opening the safe and placing the money in the registers before the store opened. I also ordered as well as
purchased for various departments of the store. I also ran a cash register by touch, answered all incoming calls, and many
miscellaneous tasks relative to this industry.
June 1980 - August 1981 Life and Casualty Insurance Co. 3740 Benbrook Hwy, Fort Worth, TX. At this position I sold and
serviced life and health insurance. For several months I held the title of #1 agent in the company. This was debit company so
accounting for many individuals insurance premiums was also my responsibility. Payments were made to me and I in turn accounted
and filed these payments forwarding them to the Home Office.
March 1979 - June 1980 KMart Apparel, Pipeline Road, Hurst Texas. I worked in the shipping and receiving division. My duties
were: stock room controller, receiving and checking all merchandise, in charge of placement and proper displaying of merchandise on
the selling floor.
November 1977 - January 1978 Marriott Inn, Indianapolis, IN. At this position I was the AM supervisor for the front desk. This
included supervision of the following areas: guest check in and check out, billing of guest folios, PBX station, and reservations. I
worked in all of these areas as well as supervising in these areas. The front desk worked closely with all areas of the hotel such as
catering, banquet, finance, and the restaurant. We were responsible for a working knowledge of each of these departments. I was also
responsible for training additional personnel.
March 1977 - June 1977 Sambo's Restaurant Inc. Whitebear Ave., St. Paul, MN. I was the assistant manager and worked in every
area of the restaurant business. This included such things as; hiring and firing of personnel, scheduling, labor and food costs
considerations, waiter,cook, training, and etc. I worked here while attending Bible College full time.
October 1975 - March 1977 Farrell's Ice cream Parlor, Maplewood, MN. My job title here was that of head waiter. I also acted as
shift manager, and was responsible for training all of the waiters and waitresses.
April 1973 - September 1975 F.W. Woolworth's Inc. Eastgate Mall, Indianapolis, IN and also downtown St. Paul, MN. I began
here while in high school. My duties began as a stock boy. I was later put on full time and became manager of the stock room. This
involved receiving and checking all freight, invoices and billings. I processed the freight for sale on the floor. I also controlled the
stock room inventory.
EXPERIENCE II
November 1987 to present First United Pentecostal Church of Ark City, 2610 N. Summit, Ark City, KS 67005. I was the general
contractor for the new church facility. I did all the purchasing for this new project. We bought and remodeled this new facility for
right at $18.00 a square foot. I am pastor of this church. I administrate all church functions and activities. The duties included are
numerous. I supervise all financial matters, and instituted their computer bookkeeping system. I have also helped many other
churches set up financial programs for their church accounting. In 1987 this congregation was in a severe financial condition. In 1987
the church was two years behind in their debt and had three mortgages. The church now has manageable debt with a facility worth
over 1 million and only owes $49,000.
September 1981 November 1987 Apostolic Tabernacle, 509 11th St. NW, Watertown, SD 57201. I was pastor and administrator of
all church activities. This pastorate also involved working very closely with church finances and the administration of finances. At
this position I also started a day care from scratch.
November 1980 - August 1981 This period of time was spent teaching in a church in Richland Hills, TX and traveling on weekends
to minister in various churches.
January 1979 - November 1980 First United Pentecostal Church, 709 Midway Drive, Euless, TX. At this church I was the Assistant
Pastor. I worked with the Youth department, was director of education and over the music department. I preached and taught,
administrated certain church funds and also worked in many other areas.
November 1977 - December 1978 The Bible Church, 3745 East Pleasant Run Pky. South Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46203. I was the
Assistant Pastor doing much of the same duties mentioned in the previous church. I worked in every area which the pastor deemed
necessary.
June 1977 - November 1977 Pentecostal Assembly, East 16th Street, Bloomington, IN 47401. I worked in the Day Care operation
of this church. This included working in the office with the forms for the government and various other office duties. I drove the bus,
helped with the children. I also worked in the church as Educational and Music director. In the pastor's absence I also took care of the
church and ministered in the pulpit.
