The Town of Ajax is seeking Proposals from qualified, experienced, professional firms to
design and build a pavilion at Greenwood Conservation Area located off Greenwood
Road, South of the 5th Concession. This project should be treated as turn key, meaning
all work shall be fully completed, including interior, exterior and associated site works,
acceptable for public access and use.
This facility is expected to be approximately 360 square metres (4,000 square feet) 180
square metres on the main floor with a finished walkout basement. The main floor will
include; washroom facilities, meeting space, storage, office space, and kitchenette. The
primary use of this facility will be two fold: 1) to accommodate trail users and nature
enthusiasts who visit Greenwood Conservation Area; and 2) to accommodate summer
camps and year round programs that have an Environmental Focus.
The Town of Ajax views itself as an environmental leader. Firms that offer design,
engineering and manufacturing of custom facilities with environmental building materials
and designs, are being sought for this project.
Works to commence February 2009, with substantial completion by June 30, 2009.
A MANDATORY Pre-Proposal meeting shall be held on; October 27, 2008 @ 1:00PM,
Ajax Town Hall, 65 Harwood Ave. S., with a site visit to follow @ Greenwood
Conservation Area, Greenwood Rd., South of the 5th Concession. Proposal submissions
will be considered from only those Proponents who have attended and signed in at the
site meeting.
A certified cheque or bid bond is a requirement for this project. The successful bidder
will be required to provide a 50% Performance and Maintenance Bond and a 50% Labour
and Materials Payment Bond upon execution of the Contract.

Bid Documents will be available as of October 10, 2008 at the Town of Ajax, Finance
Department, Purchasing Section, located at 65 Harwood Avenue South, Ajax, ON; from
Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
Sealed Proposals, clearly marked with the project title will be received by the Town until
11:30 AM, Local Time, Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at the following address:
