Enterprise Rent-A-Car Named One of
The 50 Best Employers in Canada
Enterprise Employees Laud Entrepreneurial Management Training
and
Growth Opportunities for Second Consecutive Year
Markham, Ontario, December 29, 2003 – For the second year in a row, employees of
Enterprise Rent-A-Car have voted the business one of the 50 Best Employers in
Canada. The survey, published in the January 2004 edition of Globe and Mail’s Report
on Business magazine, recognizes Enterprise Rent-A-Car for its entrepreneurial
management training and profit sharing opportunities.
“We are thrilled to be recognized as a top employer in Canada for the second year in a
row,” says Tony Moise, corporate vice president, Enterprise Rent-A-Car Canada. “Our
employees have not only voted us a great place to work, they are also responsible for
making us what we are today – and we applaud everyone’s role in this award.”
Enterprise employees in offices across the country were surveyed by Hewitt Associates
for the fifth annual ranking for Report on Business magazine. The survey is the only
national study of organizations based primarily on the opinions of employees, with 70 per
cent of the score based on an employee opinion survey.
Entrepreneurial management training program provides tools for career growth
Enterprise Rent-A-Car is recognized by the study for its comprehensive management
training program and emphasis on promoting employees from within.
Far from a typical entry-level corporate training experience, Enterprise offers employees
a hands-on and entrepreneurial program that provides people with the opportunity to
learn all aspects of running a business while working in a fun, fast-paced environment.
“One of the biggest benefits of a management trainee position is the opportunity for
growth,” says Tony Moise. “More than 99 percent of the senior operating managers
currently employed at Enterprise – in areas as diverse as human resources, corporate
account sales, vehicle acquisition and vehicle remarketing – started as Management
Trainees at an Enterprise rental office.”
This career growth also results in personal financial growth. Few corporations the size of
Enterprise offer so many employees the opportunity to manage and grow their own
individual operations and share in the financial success of their efforts. The vast majority
of Enterprise employees work in the rental division where they can participate in the
success of their branches with salary and bonuses directly related to their branch’s
success.
“Employees are able to make important business decisions early in their career and we
offer unlimited opportunities for career advancement based on individual performance
and initiative,” says Moise.
Enterprise exemplifies five key traits of a Best Employer
The 50 Best Employers assesses an organization across five key categories: leadership,
motivated employees, people management, communications across the organization and
employees’ connection to the business. In addition to its strong focus on management
training, Enterprise excelled in all five of these areas.
