CHAPTER 28 INTERROGATIVE PRONOUNS An interrogative pronoun is a pronoun that introduces a question. Who is in the room? What is on the table? Determine the function of the pronoun in the question to establish the case. Is it the Subject of the question? (Who?, What?) Does it show possession? (Whose?) Is it the indirect object of the verb? (To whom?) Is it the direct object of the verb? (Whom? What?) Is it the object of a preposition? (With whom? By whom?, etc) 2. Determine number and gender. Masculine and feminine genders share the same form in singular. Examples of sentences: 1. Nominative Case Who is in the dining room? Quis est in triclinio? Who is coming today? Qui hodie veniunt? Which person is in the room? Whose book is on the table?
