1.
Call the result to the patient care area except Emerg. For Emerg.
Dept results, call patient inquiry at 14-3131 to check if patient was admitted. Call Emerg only if patient is not admitted.

If the location of an inpatient is not on LIS, look in Ulticare under Chart Review or call patient inquiry at 14-3131.
In-Patient
1.
Call the result to the patient care area
2.
If the patient’s location is not available on LIS, look in
Ulticare under chart review or call patient inquiry at 16-4558 .
Out-Patient
1.
Call the result to patient care area or page the physician through Locating.
2.
After hours: Page the physician-oncall through Locating.
Out-Patient

Call the result to the patient care area or page the physician through
Locating.
2.
After hours: page the Nursing
Supervisor through Locating. Outline the problem to the Nursing
Supervisor, who will decide whether the resident-on-call or physician-oncall will take the call.

If Emergency Dept. refuses to take the result: page the Charge nurse on duty through CHC locating at ext. 4560 for pager #4007. If still not resolved, page the Nurse Manager, Sandy Burnside at pager #8201 Mon to Fri or the Nurse
Manager on call on weekends.
