The Oral Auction will begin promptly at 8:00 p.m., October 17, 2009 continuing
without interruption until all items have been auctioned. Doors will open at 5:30
p.m. in order to give patrons an opportunity to view the various items prior to
bidding.
Payment by the successful bidder may be made one hour following the sale
of the item or at the end of the auction when all items may be paid for at one
time. Payment may be made with cash, check, VISA, or MasterCard. Checks
should be made payable to Carroll High School. PAYMENT IN FULL ON THE
EVENING OF THE AUCTION IS MANDATORY.
ALL SALES WILL BE FINAL. There will be no exchanges or refunds on items
by the donors or this institution except where specified, or unless donor is
unable to fulfill obligation as described. Please do not ask the donors for
exchanges or refunds.
Items may be removed only by exhibiting a paid receipt at the time of departure.
UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, ALL AUCTION ITEMS AND SERVICES
MUST BE USED WITHIN ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF THE AUCTION.
Unless specified, dates and times are to be arranged at the mutual convenience
of and by and between the donor and the buyer. To avoid disappointment,
please make all vacation reservations well in advance. Security and cleaning
deposits, when required by the donor, must be paid directly to the donor and are
not included in your bid.
All items should be removed from the premises on the evening of the auction.
Special arrangements for the removal of large items must be made at the time
of payment. ALL items must be removed from the premises by noon, Sunday,
October 18, 2009.
The highest bidder will be acknowledged by the auctioneer. If the auctioneer
determines that an opening bid or any subsequent bid is not commensurate with
the value of the item offered, he may reject the same and withdraw the item
from sale. If, having acknowledged an opening bid, he decides that an advance
thereafter is not a sufficient amount, he may reject the advance. The auctioneer
retains the right to announce conditions of sale at any time. In the event of any
dispute, the auctioneer will have sole and final discretion in these matters.
On the fall of the auctioneer’s hammer, title to the item and/or service will pass
to the highest bidder who, thereupon, assumes full risk and responsibility
therefore. By his or her purchase, buyer waives claims for liability against either
Carroll High School or the donor of the property or services, and neither Carroll
High School nor the donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damages
to property that may result from the utilization of the property or services sold.

vacation condominium community on the Northeast shore of

to sleep up to 8 persons, has a complete kitchen with all cooking
and dining utensils and a washer/dryer (Note: Bed linens and
towels are NOT provided and occupants are expected to clean

cleaning fee of $75). A challenging 9-hole golf course with
reasonable greens fees is immediately adjacent to the property.
There are 2 tennis courts on the property available for use on a

have a swimming pool, it does not usually open until after the

however state and municipal beaches within a short drive.] There

Each item on the silent auction has a bid sheet attached to a table nearby. Persons
desiring to bid may do so by writing their buyer number and the amount bid on the
bid sheet. USE ONLY THE BUYER NUMBER ASSIGNED TO YOU.
2. Each new bid must be written on the next blank line available on the bid sheet.
SILENT AUCTION BIDS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IF MINIMUM RAISE IS NOT
SUFFICIENT.
3. An authorized person may disqualify your bid if you are blocking the bidder’s table
prior to the closing of a booth.
4. The Silent auction booths will be open for bidding at 5:30 p.m. and will close at
various intervals throughout the evening. Closing times are posted in the catalog
and will be announced during the evening. Only an authorized official may nullify a
bid, and the closing bid circled by the official constitutes the winning bid.
5. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MAY AN AUCTION CARD BE REMOVED FROM
THE BIDDING TABLE.
6. In the event of a dispute, the auction official shall act as a final authority and shall
determine the winning bidder. In the event that two bidders are in the process of
bidding on the same item when the official attempts to circle the winning bid, the
official may conduct a mini-live auction between those two bidders. The official shall
