The Figge hosts a Watch Party in the Dining Room and South Patio for the Festival of Trees Holiday

Parade. 100-200 members and guests attend this event. The annual Gift Membership Sale starts this day; part of the position is to create interest and promote the sale of gift memberships. In

December the Membership Department hosts an annual holiday dinner for its members, along with a

Member Appreciation weekend. This intern position offers support to the Membership Coordinator in planning and implementing these events.

PROJECT BASED :

October – December

POSITION OUTLINE :

Manage budget for events

Help coordinate materials for Gift Sale

Help create materials to encourage people purchase gift memberships on sale at events

Work with Visitor Services to sell memberships

Work with Security and the Facilities departments to layout event details

Plan and implement events

Oversee events

Write Final Report for events (analyze budget, income, etc.)

CRITERIA/PREREQUISITES :

Experience planning and implementing events

Experience working with a budget

Detail oriented

Comfortable interacting with others

Customer Service or Sales experience preferred

At least a college junior

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Publisher

5 -15 hours a week – hours are not set and night and weekend availability is required

Required availability : Saturday, November 21: 8 am -3 pm

Saturday, December 5: 9 am

Sunday, December 6: 9 am

– 6 pm

– 6 pm

Thursday, December 10: 3 pm – 10 pm
