Know your regulations – small changes early help you adapt to the bigger changes that are to come. 2. Sources – identify alternative carriers. Some states have a State Fund – check to see what else could be available…it may reduce your paperwork. 3. Best Practices/Screening – there was an article in EMInfo, the author was Lester Rosen and he said that “On one hand, without exercising due diligence, firms can be sued for negligent hiring, suffer financial loss and/or put public safety at risk if “red flags” are not located. 4. Internally re-train and empowerment strategies…sometimes change can be scary and seemingly unnecessary to the people responsible for managing risk and dealing with insurance coverage. You should encourage/empower the person or person that own insurance to get creative and seek out alternatives. This might involve training. 5. Talk with your broker…you will never know for sure unless you ask. We will be privileged to hear Jeff Tuisl, Assurance, at our upcoming national convention…between now and then…think about your workers’ comp…and if you have questions, write them down and bring them with you. He will have the answers for you…take advantage of this opportunity. *** TAX CREDIT PROGRAM – VRAIN Another opportunity for all of you! Tom Daniel and Jason Muehleck will be talking with us about the Tax Credit Program…if you are not taking advantage of this…should you be? If not, why not…they will have the answers for you…and if you have questions, this is the time to have them answered! *** NATIONAL STAFFING EMPLOYEE WEEK… So far, no one has responded to our request to let us hear from you as to what you are planning to do for National Staffing Employee week…let’s share with each other…we’ll publish every idea each of you has. Just email it to ipa@athenet.net Thank you. *** “The test we must set for ourselves is not to march alone but to march in such a way others want to join us.” --Hubert Humphrey ***
