Hand in date
To make a treasure chest style box in which to keep their
topic work on Tudor exploration. It would be helpful if the box
could open and close.
To write a descriptive piece of life on board a Tudor ship. This
can be from the point of view of a sailor or cabin boy.

Vocabulary challenge: To learn to read, and say the words for
rooms in a house/Tudor ship (see attached list for some
help).
Extension: Can you try memorising the spellings and label a
diagram Tudor ship in French
Use the internet to research one of the voyages which took
place in Tudor times. You could present this in word or
PowerPoint form to include in your topic file. (children can
print these at school, just bring the file in on a memory stick in
plenty of time for the hand in date).
Tip: Don't copy and paste from the internet! You will learn
much more if you use your own words to show what you have
researched.
Tip: Check the authenticity of the website you use. There is a
suggested list on the newsletter. Sites like Wikipedia can be
unreliable at times.

Mental Maths books - 1 page only per week, to be handed in on a Tuesday to be given out

Davis/Mr Watts.
Times tables – Children will be regularly tested on times tables and division during maths
lessons and should practise those they find challenging at home.
Spellings - These will be given out and tested each Friday. Children are expected to learn
the spellings set ready for a dictation exercise each Friday morning which will include a
selection of words on the list, and also will be checked for neat, joined handwriting and
correct punctuation.
Reading - Children should be reading regularly and recording this in their reading records.
