In November 2011, the total nonagricultural payroll employment, at 6,914 thousand, increased by 11 thousand (or 0.15%) than last month. In comparison with November 2010, payroll employees increased by 177 thousand (or 2.62%). The average employment since January 2011 was 6,838 thousand, increased by 207 thousand (or 3.13%) than the same period of last year. The average monthly hours of work in November 2011 was 183.6 hours, increased by 8.4 hours from last month and decreased by 2.0 hours from November 2010. The average working-hour since
January 2011 was 2.1 hours less than the same period of last year. The average monthly earnings was NT$39,881, which was 1.88% less than last month and 0.58% more the same month of last year. The accumulated average labor productivity index since January 2011 was 4.04% more than the same period of last year, while the unit output labor cost was reported 0.37% increasing.

Among all industries, the largest increasing in employment was manufacturing (105 thousand), followed by wholesale & retail trade (35 thousand) and accommodation and food services (13 thousand). The service sector represented 54.63% of total.
The average accession rate within industry and service sector in November 2011 was 2.00%, decreased by 0.43% from last month and decreased by 0.51% from last November. While the separation rate of 1.85%, decreased by 0.45% from last month and was down 0.33% from last November.
The average accession rate from January 2011 to November 2011 was 2.59%, down by 0.14% from the corresponding period of last year. The industrial sector decreased by 0.22% and the service sector decreased by 0.08%. The average separation rate was 2.38%, down by 0.05% from the same period of last year. The industrial sector increased by 0.01%, the service sector decreased by 0.13% 。
Average monthly earnings (including regular and irregular earnings) per employee at the industry and service sector in November 2011 was NT$39,881. Comparing with last month and a year ago, there was 1.88% decreasing and 0.58% increasing respectively. The average regular earnings in November was NT$36,997,decreased by 0.28% from last month and up by 1.51% than the same month of last year.
Annual rate goes up for twenty-fifth consecutive month.
The average monthly regular earnings since January 2011 was NT$36,762, increased by 1.47% from the same period of last year. The average irregular earnings was NT$8,881, increased by 8.24% from the same period of last year. Together with regular and irregular earnings, the average monthly earnings since January 2011 was NT$45,643, which was 2.72% more than the same period of last year and reached the highest level in history. After deflating by the Consumer Price Index increasing rate
(1.37%), the real average earnings rose 1.34% and the real regular earnings rose 0.11%.
The average monthly hours of work (including regular and overtime) for industry and service sector in November 2011 totaled to 183.6 hours, increased by 8.4 hours from last month and down by 2.0 hours from the same month of last year. The average working-hour since January 2011 was 178.1 hours, decreased by 2.1 hours from the same period of last year.
Comparing with the same period of last year, the industries with the most decreasing working-hour was education industry that reported 3.5 hours decreasing, followed by water supply and remediation services industry which showed 3.4 hours decreasing.
In November 2011, the manufacturing sector's labor productivity index was 119.92 (2006=100), decreased by 7.23% from last month and down by 6.08% from the same month of last year. The manufacturing unit output labor cost index was 73.25 (2006=100), up by 0.44% from last month and increased by 8.25% from the same month of last year.
The average labor productivity index since January 2011 was 4.04% more than the same period of last year, while the unit output labor cost index since January 2011 was reported 0.37% more.
