Then, review the book as if you are Andrew Carnegie (I picked him for a specific reason!!). Assignment 3: Review your notes on political machines. Then, in the space below, write an everyday “To-Do” list that Boss Tweed may have used. Use your creativity. Assignment 4: Draw a gravestone in the space below. This is Jane Adams’ grave. Write on it an appropriate message for her memory. Assignment 5: Turn in your book to p.309. Then, look at the Thomas Nast cartoon. Below, write its meaning, and then make your own cartoon that has the same meaning but is drawn in another way. Assignment 6: There were many different technologies created during this time peiod known as the Second Industrial Revolution. Pick 2: one that revolutionized agriculture and one that revolutionized cities. Then, create an advertisement for each. Each advertisement must: use COLOR, use PICTURES, say why the technology is USEFUL, and have a SLOGAN. Assignment 7: Review the information on Nativists, Prohibitionists, and the Purity movements. Then, write either a personal ad, or a haiku for each. (Remember, a haiku is three lines with 5 syllables on the first line, then 7 syllables on the second line, and 5 syllables on the third line)
