are now available.
You can download the still photographs by clicking the appropriate tab. These pictures are in low
resolution format (good enough for small size printing).
DOWNLOAD
The high resolution pictures are also available with me. You are required to bring one good quality
BLANK CD to copy those pictures. We will copy free of charge.
For video photographs (two DVDs) you should contact me personally (or any other person with a
forwarding letter).
DVD no 1. contains INAUGURAL PROGRAMME, LABORATORY VISIT, etc. (one hour each)
DVD no 2. contains the Science Show and interaction with students. (one hour each)
You may procure any one or both the DVD's free of charge. However, you are requested to bring good
quality BLANK DVD (s). We will make copy(s) and return it to you within 30 minutes.

The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi has launched “CSIR
Programme on Youth for Leadership in Science (CPYLS)” to attract top students from each of
various Board Examinations (class X level) to study and choose research careers in basic and
applied sciences. This programme is by invitation only and strictly based on the marks secured in
the secondary examination (WBBSE, ICSE and CBSE).
The object of this scheme is to inform and motivate meritorious young students about the
exciting and expanding opportunities in scientific research. The scheme will support students at
various levels of their career and encourage them to discover science as a rewarding and exciting

Two CSIR institutes, Indian Institute of Chemical Biology & Central Glass & Ceramic
Research Institute at Kolkata, are organizing a two-day programme on 29th and 30th
December, 2008, for the students from West Bengal. The programme is sponsored by the
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi.
The programme will include popular lectures by eminent scientists on current topics,
interactive laboratory visit, interaction with the scientists etc. during the two days
programme.
The Institute will provide round trip railway fare (up to AC-2 tier), taxi fare between the
nearest station and the Institute and home as applicable. The Institute will provide local
hospitality; food and accommodation (for those from outside Kolkata) for the selected
students and one of their parents/guardians/teachers for participating in the programme.
CSIR reserves the right of selecting suitable candidates. The programme is subject to
necessary changes (if any).

PROGRAMME:
All programmes, except the laboratory visit at the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology
(IICB), will be held in the MEGHNAD SAHA Auditorium at the Central Glass & Ceramic
Research Institute (CG&CRI), Jadavpur, Kolkata-700032 (opposite to Jadavpur Police
Station). Those students who opted for IICB will visit the laboratories at IICB and students
opted for CG&CRI will visit laboratories at CG&CRI in groups.

Accommodation and Transport:
For outstation participants accommodation will be arranged in various Guest Houses.
Details of the guest houses (address, telephone no etc) will be available through website
(http://www.iicb.res.in) and other means as appropriate, well in advance. The participants
are requested to proceed to their respective guest houses (as intimated) of their own from
railway station/bus stand. On 29th and 30th December, 2008 in the morning, transportation
will be arranged to bring the participants to the venue from the Guest Houses.
The participants from Kolkata and outskirts, not residing in the Guest Houses, would be
expected to reach CG&CRI in the morning of their own at 8-30 AM.
Transport allowance will be paid to all as mentioned in the invitation letter.
