Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity in the Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV
for an IT Security Engineer.
The IT Security Engineer performs critical security-related functions for the firm as a key member
of the IT Security team.
Primary responsibilities include:





Participate in the creation of enterprise security documents (policies, standards,
baselines, guidelines and procedures) under the direction of the IT Security Manager.
Participate in the planning, design, testing and maintenance of the firm’s Incident
Response Plan.
Assist in the planning, implementation and maintenance of the firm’s ISO 27001
Certification program.
Assist in additional Security and Risk Management projects as directed by the IT Security
Manager.
Participate in the strategic planning and design of the firm’s enterprise security
architecture.
This candidate will possess the necessary ambition, technical skill to become actively involved in
new security projects, participate in the creation and maintenance of security policies, standards,
baselines, guidelines and procedures, and support the day-to-day operations of in-place security
solutions
In addition, the candidate will assist in the identification, investigation and resolution of potential
security events detected by those systems, and participating in or overseeing vulnerability audits
and assessments.
The IT Security Engineer is expected to be fully aware of the enterprise’s security goals as
established by its stated policies, procedures and guidelines and to actively work towards
achieving those goals.
Qualifications:


College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or cyber security or
equivalent work experience.
One or more of the following certifications:
o CompTIA Security+
o CompTIA Network+

o Microsoft Certifications
o ITIL Foundations
1-2 years of experience in configuring and maintaining network security tools
Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of information security governance, including
policy and procedure development, security assessments, and incident response
Experience in the legal, financial, or business services industries preferred.
Experience with Symantec Endpoint Security.
Working knowledge of Firewalls and IDS systems.
Strong understanding of IP, TCP/IP, and other network administration protocols.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems.
Familiarity with Wireshark or other network sniffing tools.
Familiarity with Mobile Device Management security concepts.
Familiarity with Encryption tools and concepts.
Strong understanding of Access Control Management.
