RSCO LOTTERY
Sibling Preference
If you have a current student that attends Two Rivers Middle or High School and would
like to be considered for sibling preference, the new sibling(s) must complete and
submit an on-time lottery application to Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) by the
deadline of February 27, 2015. Please go online to www.choiceeducation.org
Sibling preference applies to families of a current student, who will continue to attend
Two Rivers Middle/High in the 2015-2016 school year, and has a sibling who will apply
to Two Rivers. Siblings are defined as students living in the same household with the
biological parent, legal guardian or foster family. Although siblings receive
preference, placement is dependent on seat availability and is not guaranteed. The
sibling form must be filled out and returned to your current student’s school no later
than February 27, 2015. You may obtain one by contacting Nitza Rivera directly in the
Main Office.
RSCO LOTTERY
Grade 8 Pathway
If a current Grade 8 student wants to continue on with Two Rivers High, you must
complete and submit an on-time lottery application to Regional School Choice Office
(RSCO) by the deadline of February 27, 2015. Please go online to
www.choiceeducation.org Upon entering information on your RSCO lottery
application, please make sure you select under “current school district”=“CREC/Two
Rivers Middle”; then select, “Two Rivers High School”= Grade 9.
Failure to submit a RSCO lottery application for the pathway preference by the
deadline, you will not receive a pathway preference for Two Rivers High School, Grade
9.

TRANSPORTATION
Inclement weather procedure for your child’s
The winter weather will soon be upon us. The inclement weather procedure for the
Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) transportation is different from most school
districts. It is important that all families understand the procedure outlined below. You
can find school delays and closing on the radio, television, or internet. Schedules are
also posted online at www.wfsb.com and www.wvit.com. You may also check the
‘Inclement Weather Postings’ section of the CREC Transportation website at:
www.crec.org/transportation/earlyclosing.php.
On inclement weather days, CREC Transportation’s Customer Service Center will be
staffed to answer emergency calls. It is not unusual to experience a longer waiting
period for assistance given the high volume of calls. We can serve callers better if
the calls are for a true emergency, severe bus delays, or buses don’t arrive.

Comments/Exceptions
You may provide
transportation for your
child to and from school
The delay may be later
than your home town’s
opening if the bus makes
multiple stops (please see
examples below)*
If your child rides a bus that serves multiple towns, the bus operates on the schedule
of the town with the longest delay. Know your child’s bus route. Bus route information
may be found at www.crec.org/transportation.
*Example: If children from Bloomfield and Windsor are transported on one bus to the
Classical Magnet School in Hartford and Hartford is on time, Bloomfield has a two hour
delay, and Windsor has a 90 minute delay, the bus will run on a 2 hour delay because
that is the longest delay on that bus route. There is no perfect solution to transporting
students in bad weather; however, your child’s safety is our first priority. Buses will
operate slower to be safe as they travel over poor road conditions. We appreciate your
patience, understanding, and cooperation on these challenging days. If you have
questions, please contact us at: 860-524-4077 or email us at transportation@crec.org. We
look forward to working with you to ensure a safe ride for your child and appreciate
your patience during those inclement weather days.
