Raleigh/ Durham Field Trip Reminders:
We will be traveling to Raleigh/Durham on Thursday, February 14th. Your child needs to be at Craven
Early College no later than 6:45 on this day. We will return to Craven Early College by 5:30 pm on
the 15th of February. We will have your son or daughter call you if we will be arriving back at CEC
earlier than 5:15 or later than 5:45.
We will be staying at the Comfort Suites on Page Road in Durham. The phone number is (919) 3141200. Your child is expected to be on his or her best behavior and to abide by all of Craven County
School rules, as well as any of the expectations set by the venues that we are visiting. If your student
misbehaves to the point where he or she must return home, it will be the parent’s responsibility to
pick up him or her from whichever venue we are at in the Raleigh/Durham area.
Your student will be responsible for any electronic devices that he or she brings. We will have
designated blackout times when the use of electronic devises will be prohibited. If your student
doesn’t abide by those times then the device will be confiscated.
Your student will need to bring a bagged breakfast and lunch for Thursday. Dinner Thursday night,
breakfast Friday morning, and lunch Friday afternoon are all provided. Your student may bring
money for snacks or souvenirs.
We are traveling by activity bus, so space is very limited. Please limit your student to one SMALL
carry-on sized bag for this trip. Your student will only need a change of clothes for the play, pajamas,
and a change of clothes for Friday. All clothes are required to abide by Craven County Schools’ dress
code policy.
While on this trip, we will be going to see a production of Mary Poppins at the Durham Performing
Arts Center. For this part of the trip, your student needs to bring a set of dress clothes. We have
discussed these expectations with your child and hope that you will aid us in helping your student
select appropriate attire for this event.

are on the trip.
