Grading Scale: A = 93-100% B+ = 87-89.99% C+ = 77-79.90% D+ = 67-69.9% F = Below 60% A- = 90-92.9% B = 83-86.99% C = 73-76.90% D = 63-66.90% B- = 80-82.99% C- = 70-72.90% D- = 60-62.90% Grades will be posted online and updated approximately every two weeks. Reference page 5 in the Andover High School Husky Handbook – Academic Misrepresentation Tests: There will be tests throughout the course, approximately one each week. Material on the tests will cover content from class, textbook readings, and class labs/activities. Questions could be a combination of multiple choice, short answer, matching, or essay. Labs/Projects: Lab is a key component of this course and is assessed with formal lab reports. There will be 2-3 of these assigned to your lab group each trimester. Detailed requirements for each lab report/project will accompany each activity. Major labs can be made up by arrangement with the instructor. Late Lab Reports or other major projects will be reduced 10% each day it is late. Participation/Safety: Your overall grade could be affected positively or negatively based on your participation performance and your adherence to safety rules. Other Assignments: Expect to have regular homework assignments, including guided reading from the textbook, discussion questions following lab investigations, articles related to our current material, and practice problems. As a college student, you are expected to keep up with these assignments, however not all of them will be collected for a grade. Questions referring to these assignments may appear on tests. Late assignments will only be worth half credit. Study Tips: Staying current on text book readings and/or assignments is crucial to your understanding of the course content. Amount of time committed to this class will vary per student but a good guideline to start with might be 30 minutes per night. Homework activities may include reading, doing review questions from text, doing pre/post tests online, watching online videos and/or animations, or other activities as requested by your instructor.
