TRAVEL GUIDE FOR EAST ASIA
#1 – LANDFORMS
Write down the following headings on a sheet of paper: Mountains, Plains, Plateaus, Basins,
Deserts, Peninsulas, Islands, Rivers, Seas. (Write the names down the side of the paper and give
yourself room to add things to the right.)
Ask yourself, what physical features of East Asia would travelers to the region want to know
about?
Compile a list of major sites from each of the category that visitors would want to know about.
You want to have at least one feature from each country for each heading (if possible, ex: Taiwan
may not have a mountain.)
#2 – CLIMATES
Look at the climates, vegetation, and animal life that would be in each of the areas you think
people want to visit. Add these to your chart. Write down when you would advise people NOT to
visit each area and why.
#3 ­ FINISH YOUR TRAVEL GUIDE
With another person, refine your list and choose ONE country to write about. On a SEPARATE
sheet of paper, write down LANDFORM, CLIMATE, SEASON, and ITEMS. Under these,
explain what a traveler would need to know/bring for each of those categories.
