What is Maker Faire UK? Maker Faire is a celebration of making and DIY culture, from ancient making and crafting techniques to cutting edge technology. At a Maker Faire, thousands of people from all walks of life come together to enjoy invention and exploration, to marvel at maker projects, share making techniques and encourage engagement in making projects in an open and welcoming event. Billed as “The Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth”, Maker Faire is much more than a technology and invention trade show. Maker culture emphasises learning new skills, from practical crafts to electronics and programming. You can listen to international speakers who have turned their hobby into new industries, be inspired by the role models that Makers become for young and old alike, and see for yourself the living embodiment of diversity within science, engineering and technology.
