 Media Advisory August 26, 2014 Mini Maker Faire to “Make” an Explosive Entrance: EepyBird is Coming to Town Inventors, Designers, Makers and Creators Collide at TELUS Spark Sept 6 & 7 WHAT: The Third Annual Mini Maker Faire is Calgary’s largest showcase of innovation, makers and creativity and it’s happening at TELUS Spark September 6 & 7. Over 150 makers will entice visitors at this family friendly expo, featuring robot makers, 3D printing enthusiasts, engineers, aviation specialists, space art, fine craft, and more. Major Program Announcement: EepyBird is coming to town! In their laboratory deep in the woods of Buckfield, Maine, EepyBird’s Fritz and Stephen and their creative team explore and experiment with Coke and Mentos, sticky notes, paper airplanes, shampoo, and more. They spend countless hours searching for ways to transform these things from everyday life into something new and unforgettable. These mad scientists have appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, Ellen, The Today Show, Mythbusters, and performed live in Paris, London, Istanbul, Las Vegas, and even on Wall Street. They have won four Webby Awards, an OMMA Best in Show award, and have been nominated for two Emmys. They’ve even set several Guinness World Records and appeared in videos for Blue Man Group, Barenaked Ladies, and Weezer (the Grammy-­‐winning “Pork & Beans”).
