Javier Macias
Ms. Cortinas practices in the firm’s Labor and Employment, Education and Litigation Sections and
represents local, regional, and national employers in all aspects of employment law, education law and
litigation. Ms. Cortinas’ focus is on both prevention and strong advocacy.
An El Paso area native, Javier Macias recently graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of
Law (UDM). While attending UDM Javier served on the Law Review, clerked with the Texas Civil Rights
Project, and clerked at ScottHulse PC Law Firm. Prior to attending UDM, Javier worked as a high school
mathematics teacher, served as a legal intern, and worked in broadcasting and advertising.
