Database Manager
The Database Development Associate at Healthcare Foundation manages multiple
databases including: Raiser’s Edge (RE) database, Blackbaud Spark for online donations
and e-news and Greater Giving (GG) software for events.
The Database Manager reports to and works closely with the Executive Director to
develop strategies and tactics for increasing on line giving, implementing best practices
for RE and GG. This position also plays a large part in organizing events including
coordinating online ticket sales, table seating, creating name tags and organizing
auction items for our two largest fundraising events: Wine, Women & Shoes and the
Wetzel Community Leadership Award Luncheon.
This is a small office with a strong team approach to our development program. The
successful candidate will have a positive approach to their work, understand basic
elements of fundraising, be innovative and flexible, and have a good sense of humor,
strong work ethic and love databases and fundraising. This position also has shared
responsibility feeding carrots to our office dog, Nya.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain donor database records in RE database– including correctly coding
contacts in RE, gift entry and capturing emails from events
Provide analytical reports to Executive Director from RE and GG
Create web pages in GG for two main fundraising events including sponsorships,
ticket sales and general event info
Mail merge thank you letters in RE
Send monthly e-news through Spark including email layout and pulling lists
Provide support for events
Design event materials in Word or pdf
Reconcile monthly with Accountant
Develop and maintain positive relationships with donors and volunteers
Provides administrative support to the Executive Director

Bachelor's Degree
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Office
(esp. Mail Merge in Word and Excel), Greater Giving and Spark. HTML coding
and graphics design highly desirable, but not required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Personable demeanor with ability to foster cooperative working relationships
with a variety of stakeholders
Strong self initiative, flexibility, follow through and attention to detail
Minimum of two years experience in similar position in a development office.
Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and integrity
Able to work in a small, busy, office environment with multiple projects (i.e. it
can be noisy) and pitch-in where needed
Pay and Benefits:
This is a part-time 24 hour per week position; additional time could be considered
depending on skill level to support other development activities. Salary is
commensurate with experience.
