Background Information:
The client is suffering from a posttraumatic stress disorder and depression as well as
hypertension. He is suffering from sleeping disorders, nightmares, panic attacks, intense
disquietude and anxiety states and breaks out into sweats. Additionally he shows distinct
symptoms of depression, feels sluggish and has suicidal thoughts.
He receives Doxepin 25mg tablets (active agent: Doxepin).
Inquiry:
1) Can those diseases be treated in Lebush, Kosovo? Please provide contact data of
hospitals or doctors in Lebush that can be considered and that specialize in
posttraumatic stress disorder and depression.
2) Is the medication covered by the public health insurance or does the patient have to
cover the costs himself? Please also provide information on the public health insurance
system, access, costs and benefits.

3) Is the above mentioned medication available in Lebush? If not, is there an alternative
with the same active agent (Doxepin)? In this case please provide official trade names,
price per package and number of tablets per package.
Answer:
1. Those diseases and symptoms cannot be treated in Lebush. The treatment for PTSD
and minor depressions is available only in private clinics, e.g. Private Clinic ”Aura” in
Prishtina (Dr.Jusuf Ulaj and Dr. Afrim Blyta), phone +381(0)38 53 00 00
2. The public health insurance is not yet available in Kosovo, but is expected to be
introduced on 01/01/2015. This medicine is not included on the so called “ Kosovo
Essential Medicines list” and thus must be purchased by the patient himself.
3. Doxepin 25mg tablets are available in Kosovo under the trade name Sinequan 25mg
(Manufactured by:Alkaloid /Skopje-FYROM; Price: 3.5€ per package / 30 tablets). They
cannot be purchased in Lebush, however. The nearest place where this medication can
be purchased and where adequate treatment services can be provided, is Decan
