Director of Institutional Advancement at Aim Academy:
AIM Academy, a research-to-practice school, was developed in 2006 in conjunction with The
Lab School of Washington. Originally located in Manayunk, the school has evolved from the
Academy In Manayunk to AIM Academy and is now located on a new campus on River Road in
Conshohocken, PA. The state-of-the art facilities have been featured in architectural magazines showcasing AIM’s collaborative design and creative learning environment. The 61,000 square foot facility, complete with a turf soccer and lacrosse field, boasts a new Innovation Wing with fully equipped Physics and Robotics Labs and Chemistry, Biology, and Technology Labs and classrooms. The name no longer reflects the location of the institution but rather is intended to reflect the driving passion of the school's educators, students, parents, and supporters.
The School's commitment to excellence accounts for the dramatic enrollment growth from 24 students in 2006 to 280 students today. AIM Academy offers a college preparatory curriculum to students with learning disabilities that challenges and supports each student by using a researchto-practice approach. Critical thinking skills, mastery of basic knowledge, and social awareness skills are combined to create an environment in which children can focus on intellectual and personal achievement.

Job Description and Requirements:
The Director of Institutional Advancement for AIM Academy will build individual and institutional relationships to produce new and strengthen existing philanthropic giving. The
Director will report to the Executive Director and oversee strategic coordination of the fundraising and marketing/communications of the two AIM institutions.
The Director of Institutional Advancement will oversee the development and implementation of all aspects of a fundraising plan including capital/endowment programs, annual giving, scholarship, major gifts program, grant requests, and special event fundraising. Will develop and implement all public relations, marketing, and promotional activities in order to raise awareness of, interest in AIM Academy and the AIM Institute for Learning and Research. Will cultivate strategic partnerships and influential relationships including government.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and five years or more of fundraising experience. Significant work in major gifts fundraising in school or other non-profit is essential.
Familiarity with the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania philanthropic community and management experience preferred.

Support and management of donors and volunteers
Cultivation and stewardship of donors
Maintenance and reporting of giving records

Directly supervises Development and Communications staffs (4)
Staffs Board of Trustees Development Committee and attends Board of Trustees
Meetings
Involved in Strategic Planning
Maintains Development budget; and joint responsibility for marketing budget with
Director of Enrollment Management
Liaises with Finance Department, Enrollment Management, and Home and School
Association
Compensation and Benefits:
The appointment is a full-time, year round, administrative position and the compensation and benefit package will be very competitive and commensurate with experience, degree attainment and the national independent school and college markets.
