Make-up Artist Troy Surratt
Troy Surratt, raised on a farm in Kansas, traces
his obsession with beauty to an early age. While
his peers were up on the latest rules of tag, he
was checking out the newest shades of lipstick.
It’s no surprise that, now years later, Troy
Surratt is one of the most influential make-up
artists in the industry.
After high school, Troy became a make-up artist
for Lancôme. He switched to fashion design
and went to the Fashion Institute of Technology
in New York City. When he graduated, he
became a design assistant for Randolf Duke.
But the self proclaimed “product junkie” knew
that make-up was his true calling.
He soon joined backstage make-up teams creating looks for runway shows, and his talent
caught the attention of master make-up artist,
Kevyn Auccoin. As Auccoin’s protégé, Troy’s
star quality emerged. Like his mentor, he had
the rare ability to interpret each woman’s individuality and create a unique look for her.
In his role as Maybelline New York Consulting
Make-up Artist, Surratt brings his innovative
style to color, concepts, and new product development. His make-up artistry can be seen in
international campaigns with Maybelline New
York models Adriana Lima, Josie Maran,
Tomiko Fraser, Erin Wasson, Ziyi Zhang, Quiana
Grant, and Kristin Davis. As a company
spokesperson, he’ll give expert advice to international publications on make-up, application,
colors, and trends.
