This is my fifth year of teaching Home School Art, I have also taught a variety of youth art classes at The Hayner as well as been an art instructor for the past seven years at the ever popular “Art Day Camp”. On a personal note, I have always loved art and have been doodling, drawing, painting and basically doing anything that expressed my creative side for as long as I can remember. Following high school I attended a 2 year art program at The School of Advertising Art, where I graduated 2nd in my class. After working for a couple of years designing monuments and memorials, I took some time off from the full time work force to start a family, but always managed to partake in some freelance artwork. My favorite of which, is painting children’s murals. I hope to do this on more of a fulltime basis once my four children are grown. My goal with the Home School Art Program is to help the students build a strong art education foundation, teach basic art and design principles, as well as expose students to art history and famous artists and art styles. My lesson plans will cover a wide variety of mediums and techniques. In the case of bad weather, please check to see if Troy City Schools cancels for the day, if this occurs I will also be cancelling my classes. I am including 2 make-up days this session. If a class needs to be cancelled, the first make-up date will be May 17th and if an additional make up day is necessary, we will hold that class on May 24th. Cross your fingers that we don’t need more than two. In the case of a Troy City School delay, I will be holding classes as scheduled. Please be sure to register and fill out a new form, with your current information. I especially need to make sure I have your current phone numbers should an emergency occur during class. You can register online or stop by the Hayner anytime. A spot for your child may also be reserved if you call. If you know of anyone who might be interested in taking home school art, I would really appreciate it if you pass along the information for my classes or have them contact the Hayner or myself directly. I hope your child will join us and I look forward to another great semester!
