IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING COURSE GRADES –JANUARY 2013 SEMESTER Effective for the January 2013 semester, Bryant & Stratton College has changed the grading scale for final course grades to more clearly reflect nuances in student learning and academic performance (not effort). This change is supported by faculty and aligns with practices at other institutions of higher learning. The College will continue to maintain a standard grade point value based on a 4.0 scale; however, a passing grade will be 65‐69% or a D+ for most courses with the exception of NURS, BIOL, AHLT, and CHEM courses. In addition, the grading scale will feature suffix “plus” designations allowing students to earn a C+ and B+ grade when percentage point values warrant this half‐step grade. The following scale will be implemented across all programs next semester, except for the specified allied health courses where the lowest passing grade will remain a C grade. The grading scale applies to future course work only; there will be no changes to grades earned prior to the January 2013 semester. Also, there will be no change to the W and WF grades. If you have questions about the change in grading scale, please consult with your academic advisor or dean.
