PPHR Course Sequence Guide/Sample schedule 1) 2) This guide is a tool and it is assumed that the student will work closely with their assigned academic advisor to develop an academic plan based on their academic preparedness, educational interests and course availability. This document does not supersede your official checksheet. This is the suggested order in which the pre-pharmacy courses can be taken. Due to prerequisite rules, most Chemistry and Math courses must be taken in the order and the semester listed below. The order in which you take your non-science courses is flexible. Your advisor will help you adjust your schedule accordingly. Mishler 3/12Updated 3/13 PPHR Course Sequence Guide/Sample schedule Please consider the following: The above schedule assumes that a student has no AP/CLEP/or Dual enrollment credit in any courses and must take the full Pre-Pharmacy Curriculum. Students need to be aware that not all science classes are offered every semester, so they will need to be working with their advisor to make the appropriate plan. For example CHEM 122 is only offered Spring and Summer. During year two students can choose either BIOL 286/375 or BIOL 321/322 and reserve the other for year 3, however please keep in mind the work load and time commitment when balancing your coursework load. In order to meet FSU College of Pharmacy admission policy, the student must successfully complete at the collegiate level the (*) courses by the time of application. In addition you must have completed at least 6 credits of (**) courses and 1 course of (***) courses.(See the At-A-Glance for further information) The College of Pharmacy reserves the right to give preferential admission to applicants who have completed theirprerequisites by May of the year the applicant is applying for. Example – If you are applying for entry into the FSU PharmD for Fall of 2014, these (*) courses must be completed by end of Summer 2013. The remainder of the required courses SHOULD be completed by the end of Spring 2014. # If a student wishes to receive the Associates in Science degree from the College of Arts & Sciences of Ferris State University, they must take an additional Social Awareness course. Students interested in applying to multiple Pharmacy Schools may need additional courses and should verify with those schools which course work is required. For example, a student hoping to apply to Wayne State would need to take Calculus (MATH 220), Pathophysiology (BIOL 300) and American Government (PLSC 121). A good resource is the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy: http://www.aacp.org/resources/student/pharmacyforyou/admissions/Pages/PSAR.aspx Students should set up an advising appointment with their Advisor or the Pre-Professional Programs Advisor to receive further information.
