IBM has partnered with Racemi to help migrate existing SmartCloud
Enterprise customers to SoftLayer CloudLayer. Effective immediately, SCE customers can sign up for Racemi Cloud Path, a self-service
Software As A Service (SaaS) that automates migrations from IBM
SmartCloud Enterprise to SoftLayer Cloud Layer at no charge.
Fast
With Cloud Path, you can automatically migrate your existing server
workloads from IBM SmartCloud Enterprise to SoftLayer CloudLayer
instances. Cloud Path’s image-based provisioning technology automates the entire cloud migration process, so there is no need to
rebuild from scratch or use templates since Cloud Path’s migrates
the entire server “stack” - operating system, applications, and
configuration.
Reliable
Cloud Path migrates your existing server in its time tested configuration rather than requiring you to rebuild it from scratch or integrate
additional technology. Its image-based provisioning technology
is industry proven, providing a reliable migration method that’s
less error prone than other methods with fewer points of failure.
No Charge Self-Service Migrations
“This new migration service will expedite IBM clients’ ‘on-ramp’ to the enterprise cloud. As more clients
demand enterprise cloud capabilities,
they are looking to IBM to deliver the
security, privacy and reliability of open,
private clouds with the economy and
speed of a public cloud through IBM
cloud.”
– Kit Linton, Director of Cloud
Infrastructure Offerings, IBM.
Racemi and IBM have teamed up to offer IBM customers this easy to
use software as a service at no charge*, saving customers an average
of $800 per server in labor vs. a manual migration. There is simply
no faster or easier way to get existing server workloads from SmartCloud Enterprise into SoftLayer CloudLayer.
* See offer terms and conditions for details. The offer may be discontinued at any time. Cloud Path SaaS
is provided by Racemi under Racemi agreement terms. IBM is not a party to such agreement and IBM
provides no warranties, indemnities or liability, express or implied, with respect to such Racemi services.
Racemi Cloud Path for IBM
When Should I Use Cloud Path for IBM?
Use Racemi Cloud Path if you need to:
• Migrate an existing server workload from IBM SCE to SoftLayer CloudLayer.
• Migrate applications on Windows 2008 R2 or RHEL/CentOS 5.x, 6.x to SoftLayer CloudLayer.
• Migrate physical or virtual servers from a private data center to SoftLayer CloudLayer
How Does Cloud Path Work?
Cloud Path captures a live “image” of the OS, configuration, application files, and other information on
your source server and deploys it to a new SoftLayer CloudLayer server instance. Cloud Path applies any
necessary drivers, virtual tools, and OS licenses “in flight” to prepare the image for the SoftLayer CloudLayer platform. This enables Cloud Path to quickly and easily migrate servers from dissimilar physical, virtual,
and cloud platforms.
