Spring 2013 Gospel Meeting
“Preaching Jesus”

The Speakers
Sam Long currently serves as the Director of Church Relations for
Faulkner University after a long and distinguished career as a pulpit
minister. He has worked with congregations throughout Mississippi
and Florida as well as serving the Florida Bible Camp as both Director
and Board President. Brother Long helped establish a thriving prison
ministry throughout the state of Florida and has been featured as a
guest speaker all over the country at both local congregations and
colleges and universities. Sam has been married to his wife Lynn
(formerly of Phenix City) for 45 years, and they have three children
and eight grandchildren. Brother Long will speak to us three times,
and his topics are “What it Means to Preach Jesus,” “My Heaven,”
and “A Sermon You Will Never Forget.”
John Rice has been preaching the Gospel for 44 years, and he is
currently in his 35th year of serving as the Director of Backwoods
Christian Camp in Lineville, Alabama. John and his wife Denise have
nine children and twelve grandchildren, and their constantly
growing family is dedicated to spreading the good news of
salvation. Brother Rice travels the world with the camp work, and
BCC currently has camps set up for young people in Kenya,
Tanzania, Cambodia, and various locations throughout South
America. John’s topic for the meeting is “The Youth and Preaching
Jesus,” and he will be sharing his passion for reaching young people
with the message of Jesus Christ!
David Dixon is currently serving as the Minister for the Warm
Springs Road church of Christ in Columbus, GA. He has degrees
from both Faulkner University (2000) and the University of South
Alabama (2005), and he is also a 2011 graduate of the Memphis
School of Preaching. David and his lovely wife Rachel have a son,
Micah, who is seven years old and a daughter, Sarah, who is
eighteen months old. Brother Dixon is an excellent gospel
preacher, and we are blessed to have him as part of our meeting.
His topic is “Preaching Jesus to the House of Cornelius,” and he
will be discussing how we can reach those who are outside of our
comfort zone with the message of salvation!
Jason Flowers has spent the last two and a half years
working as the Minister for the Torch Hill Road church of
Christ in Columbus, GA. After serving on a submarine in
the Atlantic Ocean as a member of the United States
Navy, Brother Flowers graduated from the Memphis
School of Preaching in 2007. Jason is married to Holly, and
they have two boys, Charlie and Paul, who bring joy to
their lives on a daily basis. Jason’s topic is “Preaching
Jesus to the Ethiopian Eunuch,” and the focus of his
lesson will be personal evangelism.
